More sources tip $800+ Galaxy S8 price, colors may include Black, Gold, and Orchid Gray
When a leakster tweeted that the Galaxy S8 will start at $849, we collectively gasped, but since it wasn't clear at the time if that's for the smaller or the eventual larger model, it kind of flew over our heads. Then this past Friday came a posting from an Ukrainian e-tailer database that allegedly tips the prices and colors of the Galaxy S8 and S8+, and those translated to $950 and $1050 after currency conversion, as you can see in the table screenshot below.

That's a Benjamin up from what the previous tipster said, but let's keep in mind that prices vary widely from one country to the next, plus the guy already edited then deleted the tweet, so take these preliminary pricing schemes with a grain of salt, as usual. The third S8 pricing tip comes courtesy of a Chinese leakster account, and they claim that the Galaxy S8 will start at 6088 RMB, which is about $885. That's the price they got from sources in China, of course, so it may be valid for the local market only, and yet there is clearly a trend.

That trend is consistently punching the eventual Galaxy S8 starting price north of $800, so buckle up, edge-to-edge screen lovers, this baby with the rumored 83% screen-to-body ratio may cost ya. On the other hand, numerous reports peg the starting price of the OLED iPhone 8 version at $1000, and even LG is reportedly not worried that the G6 will be more expensive than the G5, since "Apple and Samsung will also charge more," so the "all-screen" trend of 2017 won't come cheap.

The reason for the eventual flagship price increases this year? Well, those flexible OLED displays, dual cameras and other shenanigans are apparently raising the bill of materials for our beloved brands, and they will lovingly pass the increases onto us.

Hmmmm? Thought Samsung wasn't raising prices. Now all these reports and keep showing that finger print scanner in a odd location. Hope they don't messed up the Note 8. I normally use a S launch as a measure of what the Note line will bring. I said they wouldn't screw with their loyal base but I could be wrong.

The Ukraine has a VAT tax rate of 20% on the cost that Americans dont have. So that Makes the S8 $760-ish and the S8+ $840-ish for the base models properly converted to USD and without VAT. Please, when making a currency conversion, keep things like VAT in mind.

That wouldn't be as sensationalist a headline.

The S8 will start at $100 more tham the S6/7 did. Unless Samsung plans to include fancy wireless headphones or wireless charger in the box. I saw $749 and 849 for the 2 models. They both shoukd have 64GB onboard, nof the base model still being 32GB. Cant wait to see them. The wife says the Edge is too small after leaving the Note 7. Am sure. The S8 will be a nice device. I am betting the S9 will use a similar design with a radical change for the SX/10. Samsung is doing a good job. The S8 is gonna break records foe Samsung.

"I saw $749 and 849 for the 2 models" I think it will even be a little less. Every one said the s7 and s7 edge were going to be a lot higher then they were.

Samsung better cut the price after their FUBAR with the Note 7. Who's gonna buy a Sammy after that screw up when the price is higher? I see a poor earnings forecast coming for 2H 2017

And when that doesn't happen, like it doesn't this past quarter, you'll claim it for the next one.

Almost a year later and the S7 is the same price on Verizon's website that it was at launch.

the prices for Galaxies and iPhones remain the same on Carrier sites until the replacement comes out, then then drop by $100. But If you're willing to shell out the FRP you can get them cheaper elsewhere

The US carriers do offer deals here and there but it depends on the deals. The phone is still valued at original cost but they discount them through promos or throw in the free VR or SD card
