Motorola Razr Ultra 2026 release date

The Motorola Razr Ultra was announced alongside its two smaller siblings on April 29, 2026, and went on sale May 21, 2026.

Motorola Razr Ultra 2026 price and deals

Motorola raised prices for its Razr lineup this year, with the Razr Ultra 2026 coming in at $1,499 for the sole 512GB configuration – a $200 jump over the 2025 model's starting price. The increase is widely attributed to rising memory chip costs driven by AI computing demand.

Motorola Razr Ultra 2026 deals:

  • Motorola.com: Motorola typically offers launch-period trade-in bonuses, instant discounts, or free storage upgrades. Check the Motorola website for current promotions.
  • Carriers: Major carriers have historically run aggressive promotions on Razr models, including bill credits with trade-ins and discounts tied to premium plans.
  • Retailers: Amazon and Best Buy have previously bundled Razr phones with gift cards or temporary price cuts, usually appearing within the first couple of months after launch.

    Motorola Razr Ultra 2026 camera

Motorola Razr Ultra 2026 camera setup:
    • 50 MP main camera with OIS and f/1.8
    • 50 MP ultra-wide camera with f/2.0
    • 50 MP front-facing camera with f/2.0

The Razr Ultra 2026 features a next-gen 50MP LOFIC sensor – LOFIC (Lateral Overflow Integration Capacitor) is a technology that gives each pixel extra capacity to store overflow light, allowing the sensor to capture bright highlights and deep shadows in the same shot without the usual multi-frame HDR processing.

The phone also supports Pantone-validated colors and Dolby Vision Capture.

Flex View lets you prop the phone open like a tripod for hands-free group shots.

The camera also features these updated and new photography modes:
    • Camcorder Rotate to Zoom: a wrist rotation gesture smoothly adjusts zoom level in camcorder mode.
    • Group Shot: AI captures multiple frames in quick succession and blends them for the best expression from everyone in the shot.
    • Signature Style: the phone learns your editing preferences over time.
    • Frame Match: lock in a composition, then hand the phone to someone else – an on-screen guide helps them replicate your framing.
    • Creative Watermarks: intelligent color matching for in-photo watermarks.
    • Ultra HDR optimized for Instagram: 5x enhanced dynamic range available directly in the camera app or within Instagram.

In our review, we found the LOFIC sensor doesn't represent a dramatic leap over the previous generation — colors look more vibrant, but the difference is modest rather than transformative.

    Motorola Razr Ultra 2026 storage

Motorola Razr Ultra 2026 storage capacity:
    • 512 GB

The Razr Ultra 2026 comes in a single configuration: 512GB of storage with 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM. No additional tiers are available.

      Motorola Razr Ultra 2026 design

The Razr Ultra 2026 keeps the same recognizable clamshell design as its predecessor, with dimensions that are nearly identical:
      • 171.48 x 73.99 x 7.19 mm when unfolded
      • 88.12 x 73.99 x 15.69 mm dimensions when folded
      • Weight: 199 grams

Two new color options replace last year's lineup: Orient Blue with an Alcantara texture finish, and Pantone Cocoa with a natural wood veneer.

Button placement, the side-mounted fingerprint scanner, and the large cover display are unchanged from the 2025 model.

For durability, the Razr Ultra 2026 carries an IP48 rating for dust and water resistance.

      Motorola Razr Ultra 2026 display

The Razr Ultra 2026's main display jumps to a peak brightness of 5,000 nits – up from 4,500 nits on the 2025 model – alongside a 165Hz refresh rate and a 2992 x 1224 pixel resolution.

The 22:9 aspect ratio returns from its predecessor, which makes the Razr slightly taller than most competing phones. In practice, this results in black bars when viewing vertical content like social media stories.

The main display includes improved color processing and Pantone validation for accurate skin tones and colors.

The outer display is the same edge-to-edge 4-inch cover screen as last year, and Motorola continues to let you add any of your apps to it.

      Motorola Razr Ultra 2026 battery

The Razr Ultra 2026 gets a battery upgrade to 5,000mAh, with Motorola claiming up to 36 hours of battery life on a single charge. The cell uses silicon-carbon technology, which packs more energy into the same physical space compared to standard lithium-ion.

Charging comes in at 68W wired and 30W wireless – comfortably ahead of Samsung's Galaxy Z Flip 7, which tops out at 25W wired. Reverse wireless charging at 5W is also supported.

Note that a charger isn't included in the box. You'll need a USB-C fast charger capable of at least 65W to take full advantage of the phone's charging speeds.

Motorola Razr Ultra 2026 features and software

The Razr Ultra 2026 ships with Android 16 and Motorola's lightweight custom interface.

Moto AI returns, offering a "Catch me up" feature that summarizes your notifications, and an advanced global search to help you find content across the phone. Motorola also continues its partnership with Microsoft Copilot for productivity tasks, and supports third-party AI platforms alongside its own.

Software support remains at a minimum of three major Android updates and four years of security patches – still behind Samsung's and Apple's seven-year commitments, which is worth keeping in mind for long-term buyers.

Motorola Razr Ultra 2026 hardware and specs

      Motorola Razr Ultra 2026's specs:
      • CPU: Snapdragon 8 Elite
      • RAM: 16 GB LPDDR5X
      • Battery: 5,000 mAh
      • Charging: 68 W wired, 30 W wireless
      • Storage: 512 GB
      • Camera setup: 50 MP main + 50 MP ultra-wide + 50 MP front-facing camera
      • IP48 rating
      • Pantone Cocoa and Orient Blue colors
      • Connectivity: 5G, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth, NFC, USB-C

Motorola stuck with the Snapdragon 8 Elite processor for a second year rather than moving to a newer chip. It's still a strong flagship processor, but buyers should be aware that its longevity may not match devices launching with next-generation silicon in 2026 – particularly as the competitive clamshell foldable market heats up later this year.
