Skyfire seeks BlackBerry Alpha testers, not so fast Storm owners
Windows Mobile and S60 users have had the opportunity to download the Skyfire browser. With the ability to play flash videos, Skyfire is considered in a class with the best mobile browsers and was something that BlackBerry owners could only dream of adding to their device. Who says dreams can't come true? The software firm has sent out letters seeking Alpha testers for a Skyfire for BlackBerry version of their browser. First to be allowed to test it out will be Bold owners, followed by users of the Curve, Pearl and then the 8830. Stop us if you've heard this one before, but owners of the BlackBerry Storm have been totally excluded from becoming an Alpha tester. Of course, this all doesn't make sense because we have seen the Storm become excluded from various apps due to lack of Wi-Fi, but that doesn't seem to be the problem here. It could be the touch screen form of navigation as opposed to a trackball that makes the difference, but even the Bolt browser has recently made some improvements just for Storm owners. If the Storm keeps getting passed up for these improvements and new apps, owners of the first touchscreen BlackBerry are going to get an inferiority complex.
