Benchmark tests measure the performance boost on the HP Elite x3 following the Anniversary update
The HP Elite x3 is the most highly spec'd Windows 10 Mobile powered phone available. Yesterday, the anticipated Windows Mobile 10 Anniversary update was disseminated to the phone, while at the same time Microsoft resumed taking orders for the handset. The update brings a customizable Quick Settings menu, a universal Skype app, notifications syncing between desktop and mobile, new languages for Cortana (Spanish, Portuguese and French) and more.

But more importantly, the update also jacks up the power packed performance of the Elite x3. Windows Central took AnTuTu benchmark tests of the Elite x3 before and after the update, and added the AnTuTu score of the most highly spec'd Lumia Windows 10 Mobile model, the Microsoft Lumia 950 XL.

The update resulted in a 9.3% increase in the Elite x3's AnTuTu score from 108,727 to 118,796. The Lumia 950 XL scored 87,906. In real world experience, that translates into a slightly faster performance for the HP phablet following the installation of the Anniversary update. It also means that the Elite x3 offers a smoother, more powerful experience than the Lumia 950 XL.

Always good when updates improve performance, let's just hope it doesn't come at the cost of battery life.

But have a look at that score. 118K is a joke score for a flagship. Heck, even Huawei's flagship Kirin SoC scores beyond it. But I do not even care about AnTuTu, as it went to crap since v6.

Real life performance is pretty smooth. Only techies care about benchmarks.

Antutu is probably one of the worst benchmarks to use. And honestly the app on the windows 10 mobile platform hasn't been touched in ages, who knows how optimized it is.

Why shouldn't they? MS is in the mobile market for 15 years now, longer than Apple and Google! WM10 is a very good OS, only apps are the issue nothing more!

Exactly. Windows 10 for Mobile is pretty good. It's only problem is it doesn't have as many apps as Android and iOS.

do you think antutu is optimized for windows 10? It's pretty old and hasn't been updated in ages.

Is that why the iphone 7 scores like 180k because it's super optimized?

"If you're interested in the HP Elite x3, visit the Microsoft Store. The phone is available unlocked for $799." It's available for purchase now. For a couple of weeks now, actually.
