The non-Ultra Z Fold 8 is the most exciting of Samsung's three upcoming foldables for most PhoneArena readers. | Image by AndroidHeadlines
Unless you've been hiding under a rock for the last couple of weeks or you've chosen to intentionally avoid all spoilers leading up to next week's Galaxy Unpacked event, chances are the Galaxy Z Fold 8, Z Fold 8 Ultra, and Z Flip 8 hold very few secrets ahead of their official announcement and subsequent commercial release.
That includes everything from key specs to designs and even prices, and although there's a lot of stuff in these recent rumors and reports that could have made Samsung fans hate on the company's next-gen foldable devices, it appears your enthusiasm is largely intact, at least for now.
The wide Z Fold 8 has more buzz, but the Z Fold 8 Ultra is very close behind
While it's still far too early to know for sure if Samsung's decision to ditch the Galaxy Z Flip Fan Edition after just one (timid) attempt and move from one to two different book-style foldables is going to pay off in terms of both sales numbers and profits, there are definitely some signs suggesting the "regular" Galaxy Z Fold 8 will be instantly accepted as the new category standard.
Are you excited for any of Samsung's impending foldables?
Formerly known as the Z Fold 8 Wide or Galaxy Wide Fold, this direct iPhone Ultra rival earned the highest excitement score in a recent PhoneArena poll, narrowly beating both the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra and an answer that should be treated as a major red flag by Samsung.
That's right, more than one in five survey respondents failed to muster any excitement for any of the three impending Galaxy Z-series foldables, explicitly laying the blame on the world's second largest handset vendor for that, while less than one in ten participants share that negative view but don't consider Samsung the culprit for their lack of enthusiasm.

Still, at the end of the day, Samsung should clearly be happy to see the "yes" answers to the above poll outnumber the nos, and given that the company's marketing campaign ahead of the July 22 Unpacked show is almost exclusively focused on teasing "a new shape", I'm going to guess that the Z Fold 8's (narrow) victory over the Z Fold 8 Ultra will also come as good news to Samsung.
What about the Galaxy Z Flip 8?
At first glance, the under 20 percent of your votes garnered by Samsung's next-gen clamshell-style foldable might look like a disappointing result. After all, Galaxy Z Flips outsold Z Folds for several consecutive generations before the situation was reversed by last year's book-style model.

But with the Z Flip 8 rumored to be the last of its kind, so many of its expected specs looking like a rehash of the Z Flip 7's characteristics, and zero official marketing effort put in by Samsung to build buzz around this device, I actually expected that number to be a lot lower than 17.49 percent.
If the Galaxy Z Flip 8 has the "undivided attention" of more than 15 percent of you, I believe the new flip phone could still sell in high enough numbers around the world to warrant a sequel... if Samsung is smart. And if 17.49 percent doesn't sound great to you, then what do you think about the microscopic 3.13 percent share of votes earned by the iPhone Ultra in this fresh poll designed to gauge the current excitement levels around some of the most highly anticipated foldables in the world?
Wait, how much are Samsung's next foldables set to cost again?
Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra - $2,099 with 256GB storage.
Things are a little less clear regarding the Galaxy Z Flip 8, but based on some of the recent online chatter about other markets and the fact the Z Fold 8 Ultra is seemingly set to start $100 higher than the Z Fold 7, I think it's safe to predict Samsung's one and only 2026 Android-based clamshell will cost $1,199 in an entry-level 256GB storage configuration.
What do you think about these expected prices?
With all of that in mind, I'd love to see those of you who haven't gotten the chance yet to vote in my poll from a little over a week ago do that now, and if you'd like, answer a new survey as well focused exclusively on these likely US prices.
