I agree with Samsung users, the Galaxy S27 Ultra should come with both of these features to stand out

The Galaxy S27 Ultra might, at long last, ship with a battery capacity of over 5,000 mAh, which seems to have been the standard that Samsung has been content with for way too long. However, the phone could be even better if the company tried a little harder, in my opinion, and many of you seem to agree.

Samsung might be considering abandoning the S Pen

According to one leak from a decent, but definitely not foolproof source, Samsung has tested a Galaxy S27 Ultra prototype with a 7,000 mAh battery. Unfortunately, this prototype did not feature an S Pen, which is why Samsung was able to squeeze in such a large battery.

In a poll, we asked you how you would react if Samsung released a Galaxy S27 Ultra with a 7,000 mAh battery and no S Pen. Almost 40 percent of voters, the majority, said that Samsung should include both a 7,000 mAh battery as well as an S Pen.

Is a 7,000 mAh battery worth the trade-off?

Meanwhile, a little under 39 percent of respondents feel that such a trade-off would be completely worth it. While I disagree, as the S Pen is a defining feature of Samsung’s Ultra flagships, it seems that many of you would be okay with seeing it gone in favor of a better battery.

Almost 12 percent of you said that you would take the S Pen over the higher battery capacity any day. And it would be all the better if Samsung were to bring back Bluetooth functionality, which is probably just wishful thinking.

Would the Galaxy S27 Ultra be overkill?

However, a little over five percent of users said that they didn’t care which direction Samsung went. On the other hand, a little over four percent of you — the smallest number of voters — said that a 7,000 mAh battery would be overkill for the Galaxy S27 Ultra.

I disagree with that heavily, as Chinese flagships have been shipping with even larger batteries for some time now, and it’s one of the best upgrades that a phone can get. How do you feel about the whole situation?

Samsung could, theoretically, do both

I feel that, theoretically, both things can be possible, which is what most voters want Samsung to do. All the company has to do is stop trying to make each year’s phone slimmer than the last and instead adopt Apple’s approach for its iPhone Pro models, which are now getting thicker each generation.

A thicker Galaxy S27 Ultra can accommodate both an S Pen — which I think that Samsung should never abandon — and a battery with a much higher capacity. However, considering how few people want the S Pen to stick around, I would not be surprised in the slightest if Samsung removes it entirely, citing a lack of use.
