Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Z Fold 8 Ultra will launch on July 22. | Image by Bizarre Red Oil Party on Weibo
A week before Samsung’s July 22 Galaxy Unpacked event, there’s little we don’t know about the Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra. However, a new leak has revealed basically all the details about the upcoming book-style foldables, including their specs and measurements.
The Galaxy Z Fold 8 specs leak in full detail
Samsung will equip the wide Galaxy Z Fold 8 with a 5.5-inch cover display and a 7.6-inch internal screen, according to a new report from WinFuture. Both screens will support a 120Hz refresh rate and will have Dynamic AMOLED 2X panels, with the internal display coming with a 4:3 aspect ratio.
Reserve the Galaxy Z Fold 8 or Z Flip 8 at Samsung
Samsung has just opened its reservation campaign, allowing you to reserve your next Galaxy Z Fold 8 or Z Flip 8 device. The official store is giving you a $30 reservation credit, plus a chance to win one of 10 $500 gift cards.
The leak also mentioned a titanium substrate for the display, which would help reduce the crease at the hinge. This is in line with the Flex Titanium structure Samsung announced yesterday.

Unsurprisingly, the Z Fold 8 Ultra will take the flagship role in the new lineup. One reason is the “completely new” internal display, which will stick to the same 8-inch diagonal and 3:2 aspect ratio, but it will get a resolution boost, compared to the Galaxy Z Fold 7.
Just like the wide model, Samsung’s tall foldable will get the titanium substrate under the main screen. Another difference will be the triple camera on the back.
Here are the complete specs of the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra:
CPU: Snapdragon Elite 8 Gen 5 for Galaxy RAM: 12GB or 16GB on the highest storage option Storage: 256GB, 512GB, 1TB Cover display: 6.5-inch, 2,520 x 1,080 pixels, 120Hz refresh rate Internal display: 8-inch, 2,504 x 2,256 pixels, 120Hz refresh rate Battery: 5,000 mAh; up to 1,200 charging cycles Charging: 45W wired charging Cameras: 200MP, f/1.7 primary camera with OIS; 10MP, f/2.4 3x telephoto camera; 50MP, f/1.9 ultrawide camera; two 10MP, f/2.2 selfie cameras on each display Connectivity: Wi-Fi 7, NFC, 5G, Bluetooth 6.0 Ingress protection rating: IP48 Dimensions when unfolded: 161.4 x 123.9 x 4.1 mm Weight: 218 g
The Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra is expected to come in Graphite, Cream, and Violet Shadow, with an additional Green Shadow version being available as an online exclusive. Samsung is also likely to increase the price compared to last year’s model. The starting price in Germany is expected to be €2,199, while rumors about the US put it at $2,099.
It’s not only hardware

Beyond the hardware improvements, Samsung is also expected to launch at least some new software features for One UI 9. One of those is rumored to be called Mirror View, but nobody seems to know what it might do.
A detail that’s missing from the leaked specs is information about the wireless charging speeds. A recent rumor suggested that Samsung will finally move on from the 15W charging we’ve seen since the Galaxy Z Fold 4, and offer 20W wireless charging.
The gauntlet is thrown
With these specs, Samsung certainly feels ready to face whatever the foldable iPhone Ultra may offer once it finally launches in September. I won’t be surprised if that helps the Korean company go against the odds and has its foldables sell better than Apple.
