Motorola unveiled two of its upcoming devices, the Razr Fold and the Motorola Signature, at CES 2026, and our poll suggests that you guys are really looking forward to trying out both phones.

The aggressive pricing could get the job done

We recently covered a story about the upcoming Motorola Signature and Razr Fold, where we asked whether you guys were interested in either of these products. Interestingly, most of you (42.64%, to be specific) voted in favor of both these devices.

First up, let me share my current thoughts on the Razr Fold. I don't think the upcoming foldable from Motorola will be the most successful foldable of this year, and that's because of two main reasons: timing and lack of features. The Razr is coming out at a time when its competitors have already reached maturity or are about to. Samsung is about to release the eighth iteration of the Galaxy Z Fold this year, while Google could also launch its fourth foldable, the Pixel 11 Pro Fold.

While the exact release date of the Motorola Razr Fold is unknown, it is expected to see its global release around Q3 this year, which is the same time frame when Apple is expected to unveil its first foldable, the iPhone Fold. Look, I'm not giving preference to any brand, but in practical terms, we all know that the iPhone as a name is way bigger than Razr.

Basically, the Razr will be competing against two brands (Google and Samsung) that have been in the foldable market for some time and a brand (Apple) that leads the global smartphone market with a 20% share.

The second reason I think the Razr Fold will lag behind other foldables likely to launch this year is its features. While most specification details remain under wraps, it's believed to feature the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 processor, which is definitely not a flagship-grade SoC. In comparison, Samsung's upcoming foldable is rumored to be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset. Another factor that could hurt sales of all Motorola phones, particularly in the US, is Evan Blass's recent claim that Motorola devices might not be released through AT&T in 2026.

All that said, the Motorola Razr Fold likely has a strong advantage over its competitors in terms of pricing. Its price is aggressive enough that it could easily overshadow everything I've mentioned so far. That's possibly why most of you have shown interest in this smartphone.

According to reliable leaker Evan Blass, the price of the upcoming Motorola foldable will start at $1,500. If true, it will be $500 cheaper than the 256 GB variant of the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and $300 cheaper than the Google Pixel 10 Pro Fold. There isn't any concrete evidence regarding the price of the iPhone Fold, but Fubon Research analysts believe it could cost around $2,400. In that case, the Razr Fold will likely be around $900 cheaper than the Apple foldable.

$1500 is definitely not a cheap price for a smartphone. However, for someone whose budget doesn't allow them to get the Galaxy Z Fold 7 or its upcoming successor, the Motorola Razr could be good enough to offer you a foldable phone experience at a comparatively affordable price.

A beautiful flagship smartphone

The Motorola Signature is undeniably a gorgeous phone, and that alone is a strong reason for your positive votes toward this device. Its specifications are also strong enough to make it a considerable contender in the flagship segment.

The device comes with a 5,200 mAh battery, which should be big enough to keep it running for at least a single day. Interestingly, the same battery capacity is also believed to come in the S26 Ultra. Furthermore, it has the same screen size as the 2025 non-foldable Pixel model. In essence, both the beauty and specifications of the Motorola Signature are good enough to make you consider it if you're looking for a device in 2026.

Strong contenders from Motorola in 2026

Motorola will likely give strong competition to the big three smartphone makers in both the foldable and flagship smartphone segments. I'm pretty confident about the performance of the Motorola Signature. However, I believe the Razr Fold might not be a big success for Motorola because of the aforementioned reasons.

But still, anything could happen. The Lenovo-owned company might surprise us with some cool features and specifications that could boost sales of the foldable. So, let's wait until both devices are launched to see how they perform.

The Razr Fold is expected to launch sometime in Q3 2026, whereas the Motorola Signature is coming out on January 23 in India. Unfortunately, there isn't any confirmation on when it will be made available in the US market, and that's the only flaw of the Signature in my eyes as of now.
