LG Optimus S also receives a minor update today
In addition to finding the Sprint Samsung Galaxy Tab getting a new software update, the Android 2.2 Froyo filled LG Optimus S appears to be getting one as well.

As much as we’d all love to see this small bundle of joy get the Gingerbread treatment, it’s only being presented with a minor firmware update that tweaks the user experience ever so slightly. So far, it looks like that the update includes a new LCD driver, corrects an issue regarding the detection of the microSD card, and it completely removes the language selection when the phone is started for the first time.

Granted that they’re minor, it goes to show that LG Optimus S owners aren’t going to be left behind in the dust like some other Android devices.  In any event, keep an eye out on your handset to see if that notification has popped up indicating its availability.
