Unlocked LG V35 ThinQ and LG V30+ get decent B&H Photo Video discounts
LG hasn’t had a great year in terms of money made from its mobile device business, which may have something to do with its way too frequent high-end releases that are not always entirely justified.
For instance, how can you easily distinguish the V35 ThinQ from a V30 or V30+? Well, you can’t, unless you take a quick look under the hood, where the newer phone naturally packs a newer, faster Snapdragon processor.
Unsurprisingly, that also makes the slightly older LG V30 cheaper, but not by much. Currently, both the V30+ and V35 ThinQ are discounted over at B&H Photo Video, fetching $679.99 and $729.99 respectively in “limited supply.”
The LG V35 ThinQ deal is further sweetened by the retailer including a 2017 version of Google’s Daydream View virtual reality headset at no additional charge. That represents an extra $99.99 in savings, but you still might want to give the LG V30+ a chance as well.
While no freebie is bundled in the $680 price of the Snapdragon 835-powered handset, the Plus moniker means this particular V30 variant comes with 128GB internal storage space. In contrast, the V35 ThinQ can only accommodate 64 gigs of data locally, while obviously supporting microSD expansion.
Then again, the LG V30 Plus offers just 4GB RAM, compared to 6 on the V35 ThinQ, with the newer device also improving the performance of both its rear and front-facing cameras.
To further complicate your decision making, the LG V40 ThinQ has been marked down from $950 to $750 by the same retailer before even wrapping pre-orders up. If you’re on a tighter budget, you may also want to consider the $570 G7 ThinQ or even the $250 LG G6.
Back to the discounted LG V30+ and V35 ThinQ, it’s definitely worth mentioning both phones still qualify for second year warranty registration. Oddly enough, while the latter supports all big four US carriers, the former comes without Sprint compatibility. Both devices are unlocked, of course.
