There is a new challenger for the smartphone camera king title in 2026: the Oppo Find X10 Pro Max comes with an impressive camera system. But how does it compare against the powerhouse Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra?

I took both phones out and took dozens of photos with each camera in different conditions and below, you can find these photo samples and judge yourself which one does a better job.

While the Galaxy has four rear cameras, and the Oppo only has three cameras on its back, it's the actual hardware on each one that makes a difference.

The most notable advantages of the Oppo are a much bigger telephoto camera sensor, and the larger the sensor, the better the images you get. At 3X native zoom, it's not quite as far reaching as the 5X telephoto camera on the Galaxy, but I actually prefer the shorter zoom range as it's more practical for portraits and everyday situations.

Oppo did not stop there, though. It also has an impressive ultra-wide camera. This camera has long been an afterthought on modern flagships, but the Find X10 Pro Max uses a camera sensor almost as big as the main one, and much bigger than what Samsung has.

But let's see what that actually means for your pictures:

So, what do you think? Is the Oppo Find X10 Pro Max the new camera king, or do you prefer the images you get from the Galaxy S26 Ultra?
