Samsung Galaxy Tab 10" Honeycomb tablet detailed with 8MP rear camera
The wait for the successor of the first brand-name Android tablet - the Samsung Galaxy Tab - is now over. The Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 tablet runs Android 3.0 Honeycomb on a 10.1" screen (of course), with 800x1200 pixels of resolution, and is powered by a dual-core 1GHz  NVIDIA Tegra 2 chipset.

It sports an 8MP camera with Full HD 1080p video recording on the back, and a 2MP front-facing cam, which puts it on top of all tablets in the camera department. The Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 does HSPA+ 4G at up to 21Mbps, the fastest so far on a slate, and is 0.42" (10.9mm) thin at 21oz (599g) of weight, pretty incredible achievement for a 10" tablet with an 8MP shooter on the back.

Not that it matters, but the camera totally looks like the one on the Samsung Galaxy S II, so they might be identical. Unfortunately it does Full HD 1080p video recording at 24fps, instead of 30, which is obviously a limitation of the Tegra 2 chipset, because we had the same experience when we reviewed the LG Optimus 2X

Our troops at the Samsung event will soon take it to examine up close and personal, so stay tuned.
