Apple iPad 5, iPad mini release date leaks out
The release dates for new iPads, Macbook Pros and the futuristic Mac Pro have leaked out and it looks like Apple will be ready to fully overhaul its portfolio for the Holiday season. The new iPad 5 and iPad mini are said to launch on October 30th or 31st, around a week after the official unveiling, according to French site MacG.

Apple is said to hold a huge event on October 22nd where it will focus on iPads, but also touch on new Macbook Pros expected to finally get Haswell processors and hugely improved battery lifes, and on the new Mac Pro that Apple prematurely announced a few months ago.

The release dates for Apple’s new products are as follows:

  • New MacBook Pros on 24th or 25th October
  • iPad 5 and iPad Mini 2 on 30th or 31st October
  • Mac Pro on 15th November

We already know quite a lot about the upcoming iPad 5. The tablet will adopt iPad mini like design with narrower side bezel, less curvy back and generally be more compact. It is expected to feature Apple’s Touch ID fingerprint sensor.

The second generation iPad mini is the biggest mystery. It seems that Apple is forced to introduce a “Retina” display iPad mini by the competition, but that could mean it getting a bit thicker and wider to sport a battery large enough to have it going for 10 hours. It’s interesting to see whether the iPad mini will feature the Touch ID sensor (as all sane logic would suggest).
