Three upcoming Nokia smartphones will support the Google ARCore platform
Earlier today, an APK teardown of the latest version of Google’s ARCore confirmed that the upcoming OnePlus 6T and Huawei Mate 20 Pro would both support the augmented reality platform. However, hidden within the code were also references to three yet-to-be-announced Nokia devices that will seemingly bring support for the platform too.

Kicking things off with a premium device, one line of code made mention of AOP_sprout. This device has previously been confirmed to be the upcoming Nokia 9 which was due for release this Autumn. More recently, though, information has surfaced to suggest that HMD Global has delayed the camera-centric smartphone until MWC 2019.

In addition to this smartphone, the code also referenced PNX_sprout, which is understood to be short for “Phoenix.” This codename has previously been associated with the upcoming Nokia 7.1 Plus which will boast the Snapdragon 710 and tall display complete with a notch up top. Also expected is a dual-camera layout of the rear that boasts ZEISS branding.

Lastly, the APK teardown revealed a third mystery device, known as CTL_sprout. At this point, it’s unclear which model this is. But considering HMD Global recently teased a new gaming phone, that device could be a possibility. Alternatively, it could be an entirely new offering that has so far not leaked.
