Nokia is a Finnish company based in Espoo. Its roots can be traced back to the distant 1865 when Fredrik Idestam founded a pulp mill factory near Tampere, Finland. The company ventured into different industries and businesses, including forestry, cable, rubber, and electronics. Nokia's first mobile phone came out in 1982 and was a car system called Mobira Senator. The company developed the first GSM network in collaboration with Siemens, and the first GSM call was made in 1991 using Nokia equipment.
