The Sony Xperia Z5 Compact has just broken cover and it's quite the rarity in today's world of supersized smartphones: it is a small-screen, compact and easily pocketable phone that does not make a compromise in terms of specs and ships with the latest and most powerful system chip out there.

The Xperia Z5 Compact comes in a choice of colors: Graphite Black, White, Yellow, and Coral.

Let's first take a quick look at the essential Sony Xperia Z5 Compact specs:

Platform: Android 5.1 Lollipop
Display: 4.6-inch IPS LCD display with a resolution of 720 x 1280 pixels
Processor: Snapdragon 810 system chip with 2GB of RAM
Storage: up to 32GB of internal storage expandable via microSD cards
Cameras: 1/2.3'' 23 MP Sony Exmor RS rear camera, front-facing selfie cam
Battery: 2700mAh battery
Connectivity: 4G LTE connectivity (cat. 6)

Good news is that all of the Xperia Z5 family of phones - including this here Z5 Compact - come with a fingerprint scanner built right in the side-positioned lock key.

Apart from the difference in screen size and battery, the Xperia Z5 Compact has all the other signature features of the Z5 family including the top-of-the-line Snapdragon 810 system chip, ultra-fast 23-megapixel camera with more phase-detection pixels for the industry's fastest 0.03-second auto focusing and full 4G LTE connectivity stack.

We're happy to see that the internal storage is expandable and that when looking in terms of pure size and dimensions, the 4.6-inch Xperia Z5 Compact is actually narrower than the iPhone 6. At the same time, though, its definitely on the bulky side: it measures 8.9mm thick.
