Sony Xperia Z4 gets April 20 announcement date?

According to an informed source, Sony is planning to announce "a new Xperia smartphone" (possibly in Japan), no later than April 20, 2015. With the barrage of Sony Xperia Z4-related leaks we're witnessing on an almost daily basis, we're thinking that Sony won't contain its 2015 flagship much longer. The specs, press renders, and live photos are already here, which hints at a smartphone that clearly can't take much longer to come.

Even though Sony has little to surprise us with at this point, we're keeping our fingers crossed for an Xperia Z4 announcement eight days before the LG G4 (which has been fully revealed, too) drops. There's a lot to love about Xperia smartphones, and the Z4 is shaping up to be the best one so far with its 5.2-inch high-resolution display, Snapdragon 810 chipset, 3 to 4GB of RAM, 20.7MP main camera, and of course, the signature Sony metal and glass build.

While details surrounding the upcoming smartphone are pretty much set in stone at this point, the date of reveal remains highly speculative until further notice, so don't go circling calendars or anything until we've got some more reliable information to report.
