Registration for HTC One $100 trade-in offer extended to April 4th

You now have until April 4th to register for HTC's trade-in offer

Last month, we told you about HTC's $100 trade-in offer for those purchasing the OEM's new Android flagship, the HTC One. The rules are pretty much foolproof. Pre-register to take part in the offer, and then when the HTC One becomes available, you buy it. Then you send in to HTC the proof of purchase for the HTC One, along with your old smartphone, to receive a Visa gift card in the amount of $100 or the value of your old phone, whichever is higher.

HTC is extending the date you have to pre-register for the offer to April 4th. While the company says that it is due to the "Overwhelming response" from potential HTC One buyers, it also might have something to do with the delays that have pushed back the launch of the HTC One. Another factor might have been yesterday's introduction of the Samsung Galaxy S 4 as those who are choosing between the two smartphones waited to see what Samsung's new flagship would offer.

Whatever you may say, The Galaxy S4 is on the front page of every phone company you may know, It will sell much more than your premium HTC One. Its a personal preference, go get your HTC One, enjoy your premium finish for a week, wait for updates forever and STFU!

Didn't HTC One X receive the 4.1 update before S3?

12. ama3654 posted on 15 Mar 2013, 12:41 3 2

In their dreams, the S3 is about to get 4.2.1 now, there's a leaked one already.

That is because you won't see a difference after the update other than the base of the android on sammy devices.

Um ..no

Samsung selling point is not hardware or built quality, the secret is the price. For example i can get a S3 for $480 but if i want buy a iPhone i need to spent $680 & for Nokia Lumia 920 around $690.
People know all Samsung's product are made using glossy toy grade plastic. but like them because of the price point of view.

23. beefalo posted on 15 Mar 2013, 14:14 1 1

Maybe outside of the US. In the US, everyone buys with contract so all high end phones come in at the $200 mark. Therefore, I don't think this argument makes sense at least in the states. Also, Lumia 920 is only $50-$100 on contract and only $450 off contract. Therefore it is actually the cheapest, and has seen a decent amount of sales because of that. I actually think Samsung sells well simply because of their marketing, people see ads mocking the iphone and trying to make it seem cool to own a Samsung. It literally using Apple's strategy against them! Also, the large screens(with small bezels keeping the overall phone size down) tend to sell better because people think they are getting more for their money.

24. umadddd posted on 15 Mar 2013, 14:16 2 1

completely wrong

nokia lumia 920 costs $450 outright from at&t

samsung costs just as much as apple

Sorry guy but this is a reality ..one in overall better than samsung s4(s3s)but I remember advertice is more powerfull than reality.. then I don't victim nin that case and go for one..but I accept samsung hardware is unique except ui(sense 5 is better of any ui)but s4 don't pull me in designe and build quality.

25. beefalo posted on 15 Mar 2013, 14:16 1 1

Who cares what benchmark their phone gets? As long as the experience is smooth and responsive I could care less....
This is definitely one thing android fans don't understand about the iPhone. Either way I think the HTC One looks very sexy, but I like the SIV due to the smaller bezel leading to a smaller phone and the larger battery.

Except no amount of software can fix the horrible button placement on the HTC One. I guess you can add on screen buttons but that would make it look bad if you had both on screen and capacitive buttons.

14. XPERIA-KNIGHT posted on 15 Mar 2013, 12:43 9 5

Why settle for just power (Samsung) when you can have beauty AND power (HTC One)?

17. Taters posted on 15 Mar 2013, 12:47 4 7

Because the HTC One has a ton of issues.

31. Android4u posted on 15 Mar 2013, 15:23 5 2

A ton of issues lol how much Sammy pay you to be their b****?

36. Taters posted on 15 Mar 2013, 17:45 1 3

I don't need to be paid to see the glaring flaws. How much does HTC pay you to be deluded? Oh yeah. I forgot. You are born deluded!

18. voxmarc posted on 15 Mar 2013, 12:50 4 4

38. PhoneArenaUser posted on 15 Mar 2013, 19:14

You are totally wrong!

Sony Xperia Z use Snapdragon S4 Pro (APQ8064)

Samsung Galaxy S IV use Snapdragon 600 (APQ8064T)

39. menny07 posted on 15 Mar 2013, 19:26 1 1

Who mentioned Xperia Z? Hello?
S4 and the One, dude.

41. PhoneArenaUser posted on 15 Mar 2013, 21:11

The same question is for you, who mentioned HTC One???
Your comment #33 is below voxmarc's comment #18 in which he has posted a link to the YouTube video about Samsung Galaxy S IV vs Sony Xperia Z. And in evarod48's comment #22 there also no word about HTC One. The why you are replying about HTC One???

43. voxmarc posted on 16 Mar 2013, 00:37

soon my friend....

16. Taters posted on 15 Mar 2013, 12:46 3 4

I went ahead and bought the HTC One X due to the reviews and some HTC fan word of mouth. Biggest mistake I ever made in my life and I lost a ton of money switching the GS3. Am I stupid enough to get burned again? We shall see. lol

I came pretty close to ordering the Xperia Z too but lucky I didn't. Gorgeous looking phone though.

19. ama3654 posted on 15 Mar 2013, 12:51 3 5

Tell them please, you shouldn't spend your precious money on devices that don't have continuity, HTC One will be obsolete in no time, don't even get me started on Sony devices, xperia z is already obsolete

I am seeing a crap load of HTC One ads here at Phone arena and everywhere else on the web. We will see if the marketing theory HTC fans have any merit at all. My guess is that no, they have no merit and HTC wasted money on their own show and a lot of web ads when they are not even close to having enough mindshare and a good enough product for a marketing blitz.

They need to make it a bit thinner, put the buttons in the right place, fix the crappy stock keyboard and browser. Have something bigger than a 4 mp camera. Improve the battery life by a lot. And ramp up Quality control to respectable levels. Don't cheap on the ram. Then, maybe they can successfully spend a lot of money on marketing.

Definitely not now as we shall see when the GS4 smokes HTC in sales, again.

30. Taters posted on 15 Mar 2013, 15:22 3 3

Children should realise that you don't have to wait for your carrier
to release an update. Any new updates to Android OS can be added manually.
While you kids whine over HTC and sammy I'll be updating my next toy be it s4 or one.
In the end I'll end up tossing out either one for the next technological revolution.Giving my Droid DNA to my mom probably she's in need of a technological shock.

40. dicemoney posted on 15 Mar 2013, 20:12 1

Im happy both phone are top notch it comes down to preference last year Samsung had the edge this year they are evenly match with that being said I'm getting the HTC one just because of the speakers

42. Taters posted on 15 Mar 2013, 21:27 1

To put things into perspective, the GS2 sold 20 million with a very small amount of marketing. That means the marketing excuse for HTC fans is completely off base.
