Nokia launches Creative Studios app for Lumia phones
Apparently March is the season for giving at Nokia. A few weeks ago the Finnish company started offering free color covers for Lumia 710 owners; today, Nokia has released a free camera app for all Lumia handset owners.

The app is called Creative Studios and is available right now in the Windows Phone Marketplace. Creative Studios adds a bunch of functionality to the Lumia’s camera as well as offers the ability to apply the same effects to photos that are already saved to the device.

In the demo below, Mark from The Nokia Blog takes us through several of the features on a Nokia Lumia 800. Creative Studios offers a variety of live special effects such as face warps and live styles such as “sketch” and “silkscreen”. The effects also have sliders that enable you to control the intensity and strength that is applied to the image.

Creative Studios also has a feature called Panorama. When using this feature, you can take a photo then pan the device to the left or right. Panorama will automatically take the next image in the sequence and then stitch the photos together when you are done. As you can see in the video, it does this very quickly and the resulting image looks very good.

Considering it is absolutely free and has some really cool features, you’d be hard pressed to find a reason not to grab this. We’d love to hear Lumia owner’s thoughts about Creative Studios in the comments below.

Looks a lot like paper camera for Android... Also waaaaay to laggy to take an actual photo. I guess multiple cores do make a difference, contrary to what elop may believe
