AT&T is shipping the Samsung Galaxy S4 Active ahead of schedule
Right on AT&T's website, where you can go to order the device, is a box telling customers that the phone has already started shipping on June 19th. With a signed two year contract, the price of the Samsung Galaxy S4 Active is $199.99. Off contract, the device will cost you $594.99.
In an era where carriers and manufacturers are usually criticized for delays, it is refreshing to see AT&T pushing out this model earlier than originally planned.

Damn that's fast, so they decided to release it backwards in time?

I am cheering for this to be a HUGE hit. I so want choices in rugged smartphones. Those of us in manufacturing or construction style jobs need help. This is an outstanding option.

I went looking for this phone at an AT&T store yesterday. They had huge posters for it in the window but said it wasn't coming until Friday. Not really thinking of switching to AT&T, but I wanted to see what Samsung could do when they really put thought into a design.

Not really released early, they're just shipping so people who order will receive theirs the same day you can pick it up in the store. I wish AT&T would sell the Orange version too.
