Samsung is on a One UI 9 updating spree all of a sudden
After a terribly hesitant Galaxy S26 series start, Samsung's official Android 17-based update is rapidly spreading to the Galaxy S24 family, Z Fold 6, Z Flip 6, and Galaxy A57 5G.
How quickly can an Android device manufacturer turn an apparent software support fiasco into a legitimate triumph? In the case of Samsung's stable One UI 9 rollout, a week of fumbles and delays was enough to make a lot of the company's hardcore fans fear a repeat of the One UI 7 debacle, and then another couple of weeks of fast and furious updates for high-end and mid-range Galaxy handsets reversed pretty much everyone's opinion of the world's top smartphone vendor.
Of course, not all of the best Galaxy devices around the world can run the latest Android version (with the newest One UI modifications) already, but their number is growing by the day and is likely to continue growing over the next few days and weeks.

Because nothing in life (and in the Android landscape) is ever that simple, however, it is important to highlight that these six new updates are still a Korea-only affair at the time of this writing. Samsung's homeland will eventually be followed by other Asian territories, European markets, and the US, but right now, I couldn't tell you exactly when that might happen.

If the likes of the aforementioned Galaxy S25 family, Z Fold 7, and Z Flip 7 are anything to go by, global One UI 9 rollouts for the S24 series, Z Fold 6, Z Flip 6, and A57 will probably start at some point next week. Hopefully, as early as Monday, although once again, there are no guarantees at the moment.
How big and safe is the update?
If you haven't participated in Samsung's public One UI 9 beta tests, you should expect to get a goodie pack of anywhere between 3.5 and 4GB depending on where you live and what eligible Galaxy device you're rocking.
Same issue in S25U. High battery drain after oneui 9 update
For what it's worth, the bugs and glitches reported over the last week or so don't seem very dramatic or widespread, which suggests (but obviously doesn't guarantee) that your Galaxy S24 series, Z Fold 6, Z Flip 6, or Galaxy A57 5G unit will remain stable and fully functional while possibly also stepping things up in terms of "snappiness" once Samsung manages to spread the One UI 9 love worldwide.
What devices are next in line and when will they get their updates?
I'm only guessing here, so don't shoot me if my predictions prove less than 100 percent accurate, but the Galaxy S24 FE and Galaxy A37 5G seem very likely to start receiving official One UI 9 add-ons and enhancements (in South Korea) in a matter of days.

The same could also be true for the ancient Galaxy S23 family, which is only guaranteed this one last major OS promotion. The Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Z Flip 5 should score their final big over-the-air goodie pack within the next week or so as well, although I continue to wonder where Samsung's tablets will fit in the company's One UI 9 rollout schedule.
It's definitely a little weird and unpleasant for owners of the ultra-high-end Galaxy Tab S11 and Tab S11 Ultra that the significantly more modest Galaxy A57 5G handset and the old Galaxy S24, Z Flip 6, and Z Fold 6 have been given priority, so perhaps Samsung will make things right on that front before taking care of the even humbler Galaxy A37 and even older S23.
