Transferring photos or any other files between a Galaxy S26 Ultra and an iPhone 17 Pro Max used to be a cumbersome process, but that’s changing this year. Google finally started supporting Apple’s AirDrop over its own Quick Share feature, and the interoperability option is now coming to one of the biggest smartphone brands in the world.
Motorola gets AirDrop over Quick Share support
The Motorola Razr Fold has finally gotten AirDrop over Quick Share support, allowing it to easily share files with all sorts of Apple devices. The feature was noticed by Android Authority’s Zac Kew-Dennis, who was able to share files between his foldable phone and a MacBook.
With this update, Motorola joins a small but growing list of Android phones that support the feature. The company hasn’t officially announced it, and it is unclear whether some of its other models will also get the feature through a future software update.

Most recently, the Xiaomi 17T Pro also got the feature through a software update. The Razr Fold inclusion in the list doesn’t come as a surprise, as the device was included in the “coming soon” section on Google’s page about AirDrop.
According to that same page, AirDrop over Quick Share should soon come to the Oppo Find X8 series, the Honor Magic 8 Pro, vivo X300, and vivo X300 Pro. Funnily enough, Google recently added the feature to the Pixel 8a, though it’s not supported on the flagship Pixel 8 phones.
People on Reddit are generally positive about being able to share files with their iPhone-owning friends. However, Pixel 8 owners are quite mad for not getting a feature that’s available on the mid-range version of their phones.
This should be a default feature
It is understandable that for now mostly flagship Android phones get the AirDrop support, but I hope it turns into a default for future models. Adding it to the best mid-range phones out there would mean that most people will be able to easily share files with each other, making us feel like we live in the 21st century.
