How to silence the Galaxy S6's camera shutter sounds

How to silence the Galaxy S6's camera shutter sounds
You may not know it, but some Samsung Galaxy S6 & S6 edge models don't let you silence the camera shutter sound from within the camera app's settings. In addition, sometimes notification and other system sounds can end up in your video recordings, which is a bit of a shortsight on Samsung's behalf.

Luckily, there's an app in the Google Play store that cure the problem and turn the Galaxy S6 & S6 edge into the mute cameraphones you want them to be. We'll show you how simple it is to use in this tutorial.

Wasn't hoping to download a third-party app.

It's these little things why I don't like Samsung :)

Weird, my Note 4 has this option in the stock Samsung camera app.

If I use my Note 4 and put the whole phone on silent, the camera is also silent.

I thought that you cannot shut it down because the law in that country prohibits that?

Exactly.

What law? In what country? Do you realize that every country has their own set of laws?

I forget which country has a "law" that requires cameras to emit an audible sound when capturing images, but there are also local ordinances that say the same. I remember when my iPod touch used to do it, and its had the same fix on all the Samsungs I've used since, just delete the sound file(or rename it) and it shuts up.

The s5 came out the sane way....then verizon had a update that added mute capabilities

They should update it with the camera app plus when a phone is on silence mode it shouldn't make any sound and then the camera shutter sound is barely noticeable and i don't think there's any law about camera shutter sound.

On S5, all i had to do was to go in silent/vibrating mode instead of adding one more app.

My T-Mobile S6 Edge has it in the camera settings.

Another dumb article for the fabulous writers of PA. My S6 edge has a silent function. What nonsense is this?

I believe at one point my GS4 had this same "feature", as have numerous other devices I've had. Even when I had my GS4 (or my iPod Touch) in silent/vibrate, they still made the shutter sound. The fix is simple (albeit it requires root); you just delete or rename the audio file it uses for the camera shutter sound. I imagine for some people this can be annoying and there are people that can't root their devices, so this app kinda fixes it.

I know on my S4 you have to put the phone in silent mode to turn off shutter sounds. Does the S6 still make shutter sounds in silent mode?
