This protective cover for the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 looks suspiciously familiar
Share:
There is no denying that Apple's Smart Cover and the Anymode Smart Case, as the accessory was marketed, are strikingly similar, both in terms of looks and functionality. This is probably why Samsung needed to step in and to ask for the withdrawal of the latter from the market soon after its release. After all, the last thing that Samsung needs right now is yet another copyright infringement accusation from Apple.
In response to the issue, Samsung stated in its blog that it never certified the accessory for use with the Galaxy Tab 10.1 even though the label on the photos below suggests otherwise. Furthermore, the company clarifies that not a single unit of the Anymode Smart Case has actually been sold, and we are guessing that none will ever be.

yes , becaues smart cover was their original idea, and was first shaped in steves office.
http://blog.gsmarena.com/apple-smart-cover-busted-seems-like-a-copy-of-someone-else’s-idea/r /> I love that apple fans think their compony never steals ideas...
usual PS: no I'm not an apple hater ( I use their products.) and my phone runs symbian, not android.

Samsung did the right thing. If this aftermarket product by Anymode sold any of these smart covers Apple would have filed a lawsuit. Samsung was responsible & forthcoming. Great job by Samsung!

This isnt a samsung branded product. You cant blame samsung for someone else making a product to fit the device. Samsung also took steps to correct it.. because yea, thats blatant. Let it go, iTroll.. lol

It's still blatantly copying Apple. It's bad enough they redesigned their tablet to look more like the iPad. I realize this isn't made by Samsung.

Seeing as this isnt a samsung product its hardly a case of samsung copying.
How many cases are out there from various manufacturers which look extremely similar but just shaped for each individual phones,ie otterboz commuter cases for iphone, htcs or samsungs all look extremely similiar but just adjusted to suit phone size.

Samsung may not have done the copying here, but if this did reach market it definitely wouldn't help their copycat case with Apple.

I really don't know why samsung is trying so hard to be like apple i mean come on.. first their touch wiz looks exactly like iOS and second, they had to remake their tablet after apple came out with ipad2. I think they should just quit and focus on tv's or some other product if they can't come up with their own idea urrrgh
