Motorola DROID Turbo's Android 5.1 update arrives at last

As promised, the Motorola DROID Turbo finally started receiving Android 5.1 today as Verizon pushed out the update OTA. Motorola had decided that the well-spec'd handset would go straight from Android 4.4.4 to Android 5.1. Owners of the device were beginning to get agitated with Motorola on social media until recently, when Senior Director of Software Product Management David Schuster started updating users on his Google+ account.

Yesterday, we told you about Motorola's posted changelist for the update. Today, Verizon has posted its own list of "benefits"for the phone. That list can be found by clicking on the sourcelink. The carrier also recommends that you have a minimum of 40% battery life (20% while charging) before beginning the updating process.

Because the update is being sent out in waves, it might not even reach your DROID Turbo for a few days yet. Be patient, and when you least expect it, the notification will appear on your phone.
