Huawei unleashes the large-screened Ascend G600
Share:
Powered by a decent 1.2GHz dual-core processor, the Ascend G600's main pride will be its sizable 4.5-inch IPS touchscreen. Although the company calls it "IPS HD" in the press-release, though, the reality is that the resolution is qHD - 540x960 pixels, which should still provide pretty good screen clarity.
Other features of the device include an 8MP camera with BSI sensor, stereo speakers, 768MB RAM, microSD slot, Wi-Fi Direct, DLNA, NFC and a 1930mAh battery with a promised stand-by time of over 15 days.
The G600 will launch with Android 4.0 ICS, covered by Huawei's own skin, of course, with no mention of a forthcoming Jelly Bean update.
Users who would like to experience some dual-core-powered Android 4 goodness on a large, 4.5" display without breaking the bank should expect the device to launch in September across selected international markets.

I am shocked more companies arent dipping into the phablet territory so far just samsung lg and blue are confirmed. No more information about the HTC phablet either. Wonder if its a big secret or doesnt exist.

as what i read before, a phone is considered as a phablet if it has 4.65 inch up to 5.5 inch screen display. :)
One X, Gnexus, Gnote, Gs3, and Gnote2 are phablets :)

Sometime last year there was an article about an HTC phablet the HTC zeta but it would probably be years away because of the specs

The specs look like that of a phone from 2011.
We are in the last lap of 2012 Huawei !!!

The Ascend quad will handle that. But it just took too long to come out.

I actually forgot about the Ascend Quad, I was really interested in this phone but Huawei screwed the pooch royally on this phone. Its gonna have to be priced at 79 - 99 dollars to make it competitive when launched.

"Large screened"? Last time I checked, 4.5" is pretty average nowadays...

I was expecting around 5.5 in after the note 2 was announced. Huawei likes to exaggerate.

It's large for Huawei. Besides tablets, 4.5 ties their largest phones for screen size.

The ascend g300 has been one of the best selling phones we've ever had and almost minimal returns or faults. Budget price, high spec, decent build quality, nothing wrong here. This could be quite successful
