*UPDATE*
The story gets more interesting. According to the source of the HTC roadmap story that we reported on earlier today, the HTC Passion is actually the Bravo as seen on the roadmap. The Bravo is expected to have a 1GHz Snapdragon processor and does feature a 3.7 inch AMOLED capacitive display. The model is supposed to launch in April 2010.

Agreed. Stop lowering your standards, people! We've been waiting for the 4.3 inch screen, and now that it is not, everyone seems to say, "Oh, that's okay." Retarded!

3.5" screen... not what was expected but not bad. Should help batt life with that 1Ghz processor. Makes complete sense though, don't want to completely blow away the droid...

well im sort of glad. i was getting annoyed that i kept having to look up info on this but instead for christmas i will happily get a droid because unlike all of you i am not insanely picky and i think the droid is rather pretty. merry christmas!

Omnia II = 3.7 AMOLED. So you def got a VZW reference point.

Very interesting development. At 3.7" AMOLED we're looking at a screen that's as good as the best VZW screen right now, the OMNIA II and DROID. The 1GHZ processor and potential Android 2.1 would imply a snappier/smoother experience than the Droid or Eris or Omnia. And the lack of a physical QWERTY suggests Eris thinness. As soon as it passes through the FCC gauntlet ... and VZW CDMA frequencies are confirmed ... I'll definitely start saving up for mine. w00t

supposedly active-matrix OLED displays are very good on battery life

I would have liked a larger display mabe a 4.0 but at least we have an idea of when the device will be available. Im just curious how early its going to be coming out next yr. What does everyone think?

According to the leaked timeline April 2010. Perhaps a VZW history buff can pinpoint the "Traditional" launch windows for new VZW phones...but I think there might not be well defined ones aside from "The Holidays" or "Pre-Summer."

Not surprised, the pictures have looked NOTHING like the HD2. But it does suck. OH well, I guess I wont be coming back to VZ until they get the iphone.

He'd still make his pining comments about a VZW iPhone. LOL ...it's all good.

Because I DONT want a droid. But my wife's Eriis will be here today, so unlike most I will get to fully compare the Droid Eris and the iphone.

why do you and your wife have different cell carriers? and there are a lot of website articles and youtube videos that compare the droid to the iphone.

Because i have a family VZ plan, but left this summer for the iphone on ATT. I hate ATT, have compliants about ATT but VZ had no phones I wanted.
