Look man i wish i cOuld just address all you MFs at once and tell you. WE KNOW IT WON'T COMPETE WITH THE NOTE BUT SOME PEOPLE DON'T WANT THE NOTE. TO BE TRUTHFUL I HATE SAMSUNG PHONES WITH A PASSION. THE SECS ARE GREAT AS WELL AS WHAT PEOPLE CALL BLOATWARE & GIMMICKS. THIS IS FOR PEOPLE WHO WANT IT. ITS LIKE REVIEWING A GENRE OF MUSIC YOU DESPISE, YOU'RE NOT GONNA EVEN TAKE TIME TO LISTEN TO IT OR GET THE MESSAGE SO YOU'LL WRITE IT OFF. EVERYONE TALKS ABOUT THE ULTRAPIXEL CAMERA LIKE ITS TRASH, WHY WOULD THEY PUT SOMETHING THAT WHACK IN A FLAGSHIP, I HAVE NO PROBLEMS WITH THIS CAMERA. IT WON'T SUCCEED WHY? BECAUSE YOU'RE NOT GONNA BUY IT WELL NEWS FLASH NEGRO JUST BECAUSE YOU DON'T BUY JORDANS DOESN'T MEAN THEY'RE NOT GONNA SELL OUT. TO EACH HIS OWN BUT KEEP IN MIND IT'S FOR PEOPLE WHO WANT AN HTC ONE WITH MORE PIZZAZZ THAT'S ALL, NO NEED TO THROW SALT ON THE HTC SLUG BRO. THESE SPECS THAT YOU PEOPLE DIE FOR ARE OK TO HAVE BUT HTC HAS SOME SMALL FEATURES OTHER PHONES LACK THAT PEOPLE REALLY LOOK PAST OR NEVER KNOW ABOUT. THE UI IS GORGEOUS THE LIVE GALLERY AND SPEAKERS THE BUILD QUALITY AND THE FACT THAT ROOTING MAKES SPECS JUST BS I CAN SHOW YOU AN HTC ONE SD600 CLOCKED AT 2.5 GHz . INSTEAD OF BASHING SAY WHAT YOU LIKE AND DISLIKE

You mad, bro? Easy on the ALL CAPS there! If someone doesn't want a Samsung Note, they don't have to buy it. They can always wait a few months and get a Galaxy S5. Or, depending on their carrier and if they want to switch carriers, they can wait until Google Nexus 5 comes out. Note 3 and One Max are not the only devices out there.

I think its too heavy and under spec for its size. Currently using dual SIM HTC one.

I agree and given the fact that it will be newer than the Galaxy Note 3 when it is released in a month (or less), it's weaker in the hardware department.

The HTC One Mini has been doing very poorly at AT&T, I doubt AT&T will pick up another niche phone from them
4. Dorothy69 (banned) (Posts: 498; Member since: 21 May 2013)
That's probably because the general populace doesn't really want a mini-Phone of any kind. This, of course, is not the case if you're using a different OS and you're used to something small.

I won't switch carriers as I like AT&T, so guess I will have to get one overseas that will work here, or hopefully get unlocked.

Yep. I've been kick around the idea of Verizon or AT&T being that we're leaving Sprint this month. Looks like it'll be Verizon. I'm totally getting this.
9. newbey123 (Posts: 378; Member since: 19 Mar 2012)
I thought about switching to verzion to get this for a split second, but don't want to drop AT&T for Verizon. :-(
16. Doakie (Posts: 1099; Member since: 06 May 2009)
Yeah... I'm having second thoughts. I might just go AT&T and pick up a Note 3 then sell it for a Nexus 5 eventually. As much as I want the One Max I'm not going to let that steer me to one carrier over the other. I think I'm going to choose Sim card swappability over locked down network Verizon.

This phone could of done decent on Verizon it the HTC One would of launched for VZW the same time frame that it did for the rest of the carriers and if this would of hit when the One actually hit Verizon in August how ever I think this is too late with it being what is. I was very interested in it until I was able to get my hands on a Note 3 sooner than this.

It's could have and would have, not could of and would of. But yes, the hardware in it is below the hardware in Samsung Note 3.

Thank you for correcting my grammar and adding nothing relevant to the conversation. You obviously were able to understand my point.
24. evrodude (Posts: 8; Member since: 22 Mar 2010)
Your point "would have" been even easier to understand if you "would have" used the correct grammar...

I will get this! I've owned many Samsung Galaxy devices since the original Epic from Sprint and, frankly, i'm tired of Samsung. If the Nokia 1520 launches before the Max, it will also be in the running for my cash.

I Want the HTC ONE MAX to come to Sprint with WINDOWS PHONE 8.1 Pre-Installed!!!!!!!!!!
14. evrodude (Posts: 8; Member since: 22 Mar 2010)
WP8 and WP8.1 are pure garbage with very poor app availability.
20. MattyP (Posts: 15; Member since: 31 Jul 2013)
Not really. For the average uses WP8 has plenty to offer and almost any everyday app you'd want. Some people have actually used Windows Phone and found it to fulfill their requirements. Don't speak for everyone that it's pure garbage because it doesn't have the one app you really must have or whatever soured your taste for it.
I prefer Android, but I'm not stupid enough to say WP8 is pure garbage simply because it is different from my taste. It is missing some select apps (those which I don't use though), so I could actually get by with the app availability and uses it does offer, so I'm not sure why that matters so much...for someone wanting everyday uses of browsing, email, media, photos, games, texting, calls, cloud storage, office, social networking, etc. it has plenty of functional apps.
23. evrodude (Posts: 8; Member since: 22 Mar 2010)
For the average user, maybe. WP8 and 8.1 looks like something a 16-year old girl would use when she gets her driver license or something a person would use as their first smartphone because they want something that works and don't know any better.
But for the professional like myself, WP8 is simply unacceptable. I use a lot of different apps for different purposes and many of them are not available. I checked because I was seriously considering getting a Nokia with WP8 as my next phone. So I am now trying to decide between Note 3 and One Max.
26. MattyP (Posts: 15; Member since: 31 Jul 2013)
Obviously for the "average user, maybe" since that's what I said to start my reply and was speaking about in general to your "garbage" post to someone that obviously already likes and wants a Windows 8 Phone.
And based on your 16-year old girl comment, you should like WP8, since your first reply was about on par with the way they act towards things that don't fit exactly their needs. Someone states they want WP8 and you reply with "WP8 are pure garbage..." Do you even consider anything outside of your own narrow view of the world?
You could try to be a little more objective too. Might help you in everyday social interaction.

My everyday social interaction is just fine, thank you very much!

Yep this is true. Vzw always releases phones on Thursdays

Are they seriously slapping that damn Verizon logo on the front? Pass.
19. dgray77 (Posts: 16; Member since: 09 Dec 2010)
I'm planning on replacing my old (but faithful) Droid X with this. I'd make my day if it comes in different colors like the One did.
21. MattyP (Posts: 15; Member since: 31 Jul 2013)
It would be great to see at least a few different colors for Verizon. The silver, black, and red would make sense, though I prefer the blue One from Best Buy, so I wish that one would come out for the Max.

This is not supposed to be a "new" phone. It is a different version of HTC ONE. This is HTC's first phablet... pretty impressive. It's better than NOTE 3 ON SPRINT because it's TRIBAND DEVICE. If i wanted something close to Note 3 but with much better network capabilities I would get this device. If you want congested slow LTE network get the Note 3..
