This high-end Bluetooth headset can be yours for less than $200. I've scoured previous sales to learn just how good the current promo is, and guess what: Amazon has never sold the headphones at a lower price.
While not everyone may be shopping for a new music companion this summer, I think this promo is pretty tough to beat. After all, the XM5 remain one of the best audio products on the market, boasting exceptional ANC performance and top-tier audio quality.
Indeed, as my colleague pointed out in the Sony WH-1000XM5 review, the ANC is one of the highlights of this model, making it a strong AirPods Max 2 competitor. Once you put them on, the world around you goes silent. Thanks to Sony's tuning, you won't hear clicky keyboard clacks, air conditioner hums, and annoying traffic rumbles.
Users who prefer mostly balanced audio will definitely like how these headphones perform in the sound quality department. They don't overemphasize the lower frequencies (or the high-pitched ones), keeping everything smooth and enjoyable.
In case you're used to fine-tuning the experience, Sony's companion app lets you tailor the bass, mids, and other frequencies to achieve the ideal listening profile.
Battery life isn't half bad here, either, although it's definitely not the best in class. On a single charge, you can expect up to 30 hours of playtime. That should be plenty for a couple of workdays, maybe even more if you don't use them every spare minute.
However you look at it, few over-ear headphones under $200 can beat the WH-1000XM5. If you've always wanted to grab a pair but their standard $400 asking price put you off, now's your chance. Act fast, though: Prime Day won't last forever.
