This Android phone was released a few months back. And yet, Amazon has only discounted it a couple of times, with previous price cuts topping out at $50. Plus, given that we're not expecting another major sales event any time soon, I don't expect a better offer before autumn.
When it was first introduced, the Google Pixel 10a was seen as a somewhat unnecessary addition to the Pixel lineup. After all, it doesn't pack the same Tensor G5 chip as the rest of the series. But given that it debuts at the same $500 price as its predecessor, the model is actually very compelling.
Think about it: many brands launched rinse-and-repeat options at a higher price this year (yes, I'm talking about the Razr (2026) series). Meanwhile, Google still gives you some small but welcome refinements that make this model one of the best mid-range options.
This phone comes with the same Tensor G4 chip as last year's option, giving you a smooth and reliable experience with daily tasks. What's more, it features a sleek, flush design that completely eliminates wobbling.
On top of that, the handset stands out with a slightly brighter display. According to Google's measurements, the 6.3-inch OLED panel can now reach up to 3,000 nits of brightness, while the Pixel 9a tops out at 2,700.
If you ask me, the main selling point here is the software support promise. With Android 16 out of the box and seven years of continued support, this option gives you longevity and peace of mind like few sub-$500 alternatives.
At the end of the day, the decision is up to you. If you think the Pixel 10a is worth it, I think now's the best time to get one. After all, it's not every day that you can see this phone at a $100 cheaper price.
