Sony Ericsson's Satio and its' 12.1MP camera visit the FCC
Most likely dazzling the pencil pushers at the FCC with its 12.1MP camera, the Sony Ericsson Satio made it past the first round of testing. This brings the S60 5th Edition OS powered device a step closer to getting into the hands of U.S. consumers. Other specs include a 3.5 inch touchscreen with 640 x 360 pixels, the aforementioned camera with AF, xenon flash, digital zoom, and Wi-Fi. While the Satio had been expected to make a 4th quarter launch, a more precise date of release, carrier destination and pricing are still up in the air.

What these cellphone companies need to understand is that without a large sensor size and good optics, this megapixel race is just going to create pictures with noise.

Very true. However, many previews for the camera quality of this phone is positive. Many have stated that it can easily replace a mid-range digital point and shoot camera. Until altek's or samsung's optical zoom camera phone is released, the Satio is gonna have the best picture quality, probably even more so than the Pixon12.

did you see the bulge that this phone has? I am sure it has a large enough sensor.
