So I want to squash any rumors about this. IT IS STILL NOT IN OUR EQUIPMENT GUIDE!!!! Those are false pics. I have my equipment guide up right now here at work, as I work for Verizon, and it is not showing. Hell, I'll send you a video of our equipment guide. Whoever is posting that crap needs to stop and I am sorry, Phone Arena, you have to stop putting that up. You are making yourselves look silly. Also, the Nexus has not been brought around to be trained on and there has been no online trainings on it. The only Android device that has been brought around is the Devour becuase it launches on the 25th here in retail. Now, if they did ship them to us, I can't confirm that one or deny it. Thats way above me. But everything else is just BS!!!!

from what I have heard from other Verizon employees, you guys are the last to know. They know if the information is in your guide that someone will give it out. sad I know but you know its true. to give you a example I don't know that the retail launch date for the devour is public knowledge, and you just gave it out

Its public knowledge.... Indirect already has it :-) We get things in info manager about 2-3 weeks prior to launch. The only thing we don't get is pricing till like 5 days prior.

Broken Imaege... I'm glad you feel that those images are false because it makes your job easier when talking to customers. However they are legit in the system. E-guide as you say only shows you published information. Meaning that when our (yes our) internet team gets the green light it makes it visible to everyone. They've been building quite a few pages in e-guide lately as well. A new samsung device coming out that is basically a cross between the body of a omnia 2 but a rogue feel. They're also building quite a few "Cpo" pages for phones we already have but the soon to be used "certified devices" in case of no insurance etc... The Nexus One page is in e-guide near the later ranges of their numbering system. I've been with vzw for over 5 years and I'm seeing a very strong trend in the past two years of trying to hide more and more of our data including our inventory sales reports. Expect e-guide to claim this as a new device within this week, assuming timing goes off as it should (but we all know that vzw never keeps a time frame). What most companies (except HTC) fails to understand is that leaked information is cheaper advertisement than actual ads.

I didn't think the Nexus One would be sold in VZW retail stores. Everything I've seen says you will order it though Google directly just like the Nexus One for T-Mo and they are shipped and engraved by Brightpoint. Will they train you on a phone that you will not see in the store? Also a lot of these leaks seem to confuse the Incredible and Nexus One...still don't understand them even launching the Nexus with the Incredible being a better phone with Sense.

lol its public knowledge man, just because you dont know it doesnt mean everyone else that is interested in the phone doesnt. And those pics are bogus because I work in SALES for vzw and we have not been trained or seen one come through the doors yet. So BrokenImaege is correct in saying that phone arena is stupid for putting that info up without checking the source !

Verizon has always been very tight liped when it comes to the release of new handsets. Even call-center assc. will only be able to say or find out that a new handset is coming soon, and yes Brokenimaege VZW store assc's. are the last to know, dead last. Ive been an abid reader of this websites info, and they havent been wrong yet. If youll notice in the heading theres a question mark. The cdma version of the nexus is coming it just a matter of when. It did pass the fcc.

The reason we're last is because of garbage like this, as soon as employees are told, it ends up all over the net, might as well have a press conference.....

So tell me the harm in this? I remember getting an e-mail equating leaked information as "giving up the play book" to competitors. Yes I'll admit that most carriers tend to all switch it up due to each other but when you're talking about equipment it has a long way to go before it actually hits the streets. By the time (most of them) a leak hits it isn't too far off and not enough time for any competitor to try to beat it other than to reach out to that same vendor. You complain that you aren't told anything yet you seem to lack the initiative to see past what most of corporate america has been preaching since the 80's; follow the rules blindly and be paid. If you want the info, it is in our systems, find it and don't rely on this site. Simply by posting a comment on here is proof that you come to this site and read it. Which in all reality fuels the fire and popularity of these leaks. Just because you don't actually leak the information doesn't mean you're part of the "problem". This is free advertisement for my company and I'm very happy to see it shine any positive light on us. Easier to have a friend convince you to buy something rather than the company directly.

I work for vzw as well and can tell you that the"equipment guide" pic had to be fake, cant find it anywhere in our system. Good news for me though, today i got to play with an HTC Incredible....I know people here will say im lying, but whatever, anyways, the phone is freakin amazing, super fast, 8mp camera, super huge screen, android 2.1, never checked the memory, only had about 45 seconds to play with it....also, since i was supervised no pics.......oh and by the way, it actually feel the same weight as the eris, if not lighter...

skylox, great to hear. any idea as to when the incredible will be hitting stores?

no idea when its going to launch, so all i can go with is rumors....but hopefully soon, because the phone i was playing with had the black back plate and had vzw logos on it and did not have any markings of a test device, it was running the new sense ui which looks so nice, very smooth. I have a moto droid and love it, but when the phone comes out im definetly geting it......it is simply awesome.
