HTC display panel from mystery device leaks – huge screen, thin bezels

We are just a few hours away from HTC's Double Exposure event, where the company will presumably announce at least one of the rumored Eye handsets – the Desire Eye and the One (M8) Eye, along with the rumored ReCamera. With so little time left to an event, things will tend to leak here and there and rumors will spur up a bit. Anyway, whatever this next bit is, it is certainly pretty to look at.

Vietnamese site VNTech claims that it has received a picture of a future HTC handset's display panel from an employee of the manufacturer. The picture shows a rather large screen with nice, slim bezels.

Now, given that the Desire Eye is rumored to have a 5.2" screen, this panel could easily be a part of the new handset. If the Eye turns up to be a smaller handset, it would be interesting to see what phone HTC plans to stick this panel in.

It isn't, consider the speakers and you will have a healthy amount of bezel already.

Pretty much... It is just showing a screen panel which it does not translate into a bezel size directly. However, I don't mind the bezel on the HTC One M8 since it delivers such loud speakers. When my gf play music on her M8, I can hear it anywhere in the apartment.

For all I know it could be fake or completely irrelevant to the Double Exposure event. Two days before I'd expect a photo leak of a complete phone

I don't think so..It looks like a phablet screen to me..May be it is from the upcoming (rumored I guess) One Max 2/refresh or what ever they call it..

,,, How exactly is this display "Sony Style"? Unless you're referring to screen tech (which we don't know what this uses) I'm pretty sure they didn't invent rectangular displays or the color black. This isn't a full phone, just a display panel. I think I see where you got confused.

Thin? The black bar is still down there, and this is just a panel, add to it the frame and the boomspeakers and it is another HTC with gigantic bezels.

The edgers look way way to pointy & would be very uncomfortable holding.

Well nice but those bezels look still kinda thick considering it's just the display panel.

I'm leaving HTC because of their incapacity to make a compact phone with 5".

Their bezel are huge, way too huge, can't stand it anymore.

Putting it next to my g2, bezels look smaller on the HTC, especially the top one.

Thin bezel? are you kidding me look at the light reflex on the left side of the screen and the HTC logo on the bottom, i can say it is the same screen as M8 and wait for the front speaker add it will look exactly like m8.
