We
reported the other day about an HTC Hero spotted running Android 2.1. We also noted that the word from HTC was that an upgrade would go out to Hero owners once the Taiwanese firm was able to upgrade the Sense UI. Well now, thanks to the guys at XDA-developers, Hero owners can upgrade to Android 2.1 with the Sense UI included. Simply click on the sourcelink to start the process. As we previously
told you, an official release of the Android 2.1 OS is expected around the same time that the new Android Marketplace terms and conditions become effective which would be December 11th. Among the first handsets to receive the official release will be the Motorola DROID and the HTC DROID ERIS. As for the leaked version for the Hero, we have two important reminders-backup your data before starting, and let us know what you think about Android 2.1.
