Android 15 is an exceptionally boring update to my Pixel phone
Listen, I’m having a week. So Android 15 suddenly dropping to my Pixel 6a was absolutely the right type of stimuli I was looking for. Was I hoping that it would hit me on an October night, just before the witching hour? No. But I’ll tell you this muc...

Pixel 6 line could get extra system support time; will the series receive Android 16?
It's amazing, really. When I bought my Pixel 6 Pro in January 2022, I was guaranteed to receive Android 15 in 2024 and two additional years of security updates. That worked out to three years of system updates and five years of security updates. Thes...

Let’s settle it: should you still close your background apps on Android?
Recently I watched another techfluencer tell me “Ten things that I didn’t know about my Android phone” and I had a physical and verbal reaction to one of those. I’m paraphrasing here, but it went a little something like this:Jokes aside, I kind of th...

Phone owned for more than a year

As I've been using this device for will over a year now I can say that this phone has served me well every single day of that time. At no Tyrone have I longed for a better this is that, or anything bigger or better... It offers just ride right size, shape and just those essential features while dropping the extraneous extras irrelevant to the core findings of a quality smartphone experience. Admittedly I'm not one for Bella and whistles for the sale of them alone. Is it's too be included here it has to be intrinsicly a part you'd expect from any adequate smartphone today.

Phone owned for more than a year

The phone power off on outer plastic switch lost , never heard of any such problem with any phone or brand ever. The parts are of poor quality , even the sound volume switch or button. Battery drains on phone calls by 4 PM. The phone is not user friendly. Phone generates heat a lot if two apps are running , in charging it gets more heated, charging takes 3 hours with fast chargers. It was cheap , but now costly by 50% with a year. Phone though not hangs but gets slower after one year.

Good Phone
Phone owned for less than 3 months

I always have to use 2 phones (one personal and one business). This is my second Pixel phone after Pixel 3a. I have been using Samsung Note 10 Lite and S10 Lite after that. I always make sure that one of my phones have 3.5mm jack. Currently I am using Pixel 6a and Moto G62 5G (has 3.5mm jack, microSD card slot, stereo speakers, yet costs 50% of Pixel 6a). As Moto G62 has got "Potato Camera(s)", I bought Pixel 6a for camera purposes. That is a great decision, imho.

I hate Pixel 6 phones for the Glass sandwich design and hence bought Pixel 6a. Since I have earlier used Pixel 3a, I have no doubt regarding the Cameras and I don't really miss 50MPx of Pixel 6 series. I love the compact form factor of this phone. For typing e-mails and browsing, where bigger screen is preferred, I use my Moto G62. Best of both worlds, imho.

It is always better to buy Pixel phones after minimum 6 months as by that time, Google would have sorted out all software bugs. In display FPS is fast, phone is flying fast, battery life is amazing and lasts more than 1.5 days (mostly because I have 2 phone batteries to kill). Even for single phone using heavy users, it will surely last one full day without any issues. Network speed is great, comparing my earlier Samsung phones. Over all a great phone.
