honor 6X is official with Kirin 655 chip, dual rear cameras and more
We've heard a great deal about the honor 6X, a budget smartphone with a metallic finish and dual rear-facing cameras. After a recent TENAA listing outed all of the specs, honor then began to send out invitations for an announcement event on October 18th. Right on cue, the handset has finally been unveiled, and you can find all of the official details just below.

The device includes a 5.5-inch 1080 x 1920 display, Huawei's HiSilicon Kirin 655 SoC and 3 or 4 GB of RAM. There's also 32 or 64 GB of internal storage space, which can be expanded by a further 128 GB courtesy of the included microSD slot. This slot is of the hybrid variety, so can also be utilized as a secondary SIM tray by those who like to live the dual-SIM life.

As has been noted previously, the honor 6X is packed with two rear-facing cameras. The 12 and 2-megapixel combo provides LED flash, 6P lens, 1.25 um pixel size and PDAF. On the front, selfie fans get an 8-megapixel shooter.

The device also includes Android 6 Marshmallow with the Emotion UI 4.1 running on top. There's a fingerprint sensor to the rear just beneath the aforementioned cameras, and you get your usual array of connectivity including 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.1 and GPS. Keeping the lights on, meanwhile, is a 3340 mAh battery.

Size-wise, the honor 6X measures in at 150.9 x 72.6 x 8.2 mm, with a weight of 162 grams. It arrives in a choice of gold, silver, gray, blue or rose gold color variants at 999 Yuan ($148) for 3 GB RAM / 32 GB ROM, 1299 Yuan ($193) for the 4 GB / 32GB  or 1599 Yuan ($238) for 4 GB / 64 GB. It will go on sale in China a week from now, on October 25th.

There's no word as yet on if or when the honor 6X will arrive to markets like the United States. But since the preceding honor 5X got a U.S. version, there's a good chance that the 6X will do likewise.

We will of course keep you updated on any further info related to this new handset, so stay tuned.
