honor 6X is coming; dual-camera, metallic device set to launch in October

The honor 6X was recently spotted in China's TENAA certification system

A couple of weeks ago, a device from Huawei's sub-brand honor gained the TENAA nod of approval in China. Known as the honor 6X, the certification gave us a glimpse of the handset sans the specs, but we're expecting a reasonable bump on the honor 5X's mid-range hardware. Now, we also have a supposed launch date to add to the mix.

As a reminder, the honor 5X packs a 5.5-inch, 1080 x 1920 display, Qualcomm Snapdragon 616 with 2 GB RAM, 16 GB of expandable storage and a 13-megapixel rear-facing camera. The 6X should include a similarly-sized display that will probably retain FHD resolution, while honor could include a Snapdragon 625 SoC and perhaps another gigabyte of RAM if it's feeling particularly generous.

Most OEMs seem to be pushing minimum storage up to 32 GB, so the honor 6X may benefit from this trend also. Meanwhile, we know that the newer model will include two main cameras as seen in the pics above, accompanied by a rear fingerprint sensor.

So, when can we expect this slick, metallic-looking device to manifest itself? The Asian media suggests that the handsets will be launched on 18th October. This date is not confirmed, so we'll keep an eye out for any further info in this regard. It's also unclear as to whether this date -- a Tuesday -- will see the honor 6X actually released to the public, or merely unveiled.

We'll have more as it arrives, so stay tuned.

I don't care what anyone says about Android and it "being laggy" I have never had a problem with lag on any of my newer devices even ones with only 1GB of RAM, if any legitimate Craple Dan's had solid proof show me, but I'm guessing you've never even used Android OS, so please refrain for ignorant comment until you actually can back tour case up with substantial evidence.
