Both the Galaxy S27 Ultra and new Galaxy S27 Pro will feature the M16 display material, per South Korean publication ETNews.
It's Samsung Display's most advanced panel and should improve colors, brightness, efficiency, and durability.
Not the first one
Apple's new iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max, as well as the iPhone Duo, also feature the M16. The Google Pixel 11 was the first to use it. Vivo's iQOO 16 launching later this month in China will also flaunt the material.
M16 will be so 2026 by the time the Galaxy S27 Ultra arrives next year. It will still be the smartphone display to beat.

The Galaxy S26 Ultra is the only smartphone to feature a Privacy Display, though Xiaomi and Honor are working to erode that edge. The S26 Ultra is also the only conventional smartphone with Color Filter-on-Encapsulation (COE) polarizer-free tech.
Toss the latest display material into the mix, and the Galaxy S27 Ultra will easily have the swankiest display. Hopefully, Samsung will have completely weeded out the red tint issues plaguing the S26 Ultra by then.
