If this week's free iPad isn't quite your cup of tea, whether because you don't need a tablet or because of the caveats that come with it, the upcoming T-Mobile Tuesdays gift might be more up your alley. As the days get cooler and the mood gets cozy, T-Mobile thought you might want a hybrid lantern that doubles as a flashlight.
A useful gift

Nearly everyone can use a portable light. Whether for seasonal decor or emergency prep during storm season, this one is hard to say no to.
The light features a rotating bottom LED that can point inward for soft lantern illumination or outward to function as a flashlight. It also includes a built-in top hook for easy hanging.
Images shared by The Mobile Report show a compact, cone-shaped body with a touch of magenta and T-Mobile's logo.

How to get it
The lantern will be available in T-Mobile-owned and operated stores on Tuesday, October 27. Save the offer in the T-Life app and visit a nearby location to pick up your lantern. Each line on the account is eligible for one lantern, though T-Mobile tends to run out of the popular ones pretty quickly. This one sure looks like it will be a hit.
A T-Mobile fixture
T-Mobile announced the long-rumored T-Mix plans today. The new offerings require you to use picks toward perks and promos, though T-Mobile Tuesdays doesn't require you to spend that precious currency.
The fate of the Experience 2.0 plans isn't known, but they might soon be relegated to stores before being phased out.
Curiously, Experience 2.0 was announced just in August. T-Mobile is rapidly changing, but the Tuesdays program remains intact.
Freebies work
While customers may struggle to make sense of an evolving T-Mobile, gestures like this free lantern are a relic of the Un-carrier days. Customers love freebies, which explains why Verizon has also rolled out loyalty programs.
