Both come with dual camera systems | Image by PhoneArena
Apple's first foldable phone, the iPhone Duo, is finally here.
While Apple is still sorting out the quality issues with that hinge, I was curious to see whether that dual camera on its back was actually good enough, and what better comparison than to the similarly sized Samsung Galaxy Fold 8.
Both have a main and ultra-wide camera on the back, and neither has a dedicated telephoto camera. Let's start with the technical specs:

The iPhone Duo actually has the upper hand — its main camera features a 1/1.3-inch size sensor, nearly 50% larger than the 1/1.56-inch sensor on the Galaxy. I appreciate that the Galaxy is thinner and lighter, but not at the expense of the main camera.
And when it comes to the ultra-wide camera on both phones, well, both use a similarly sized 1/2.55-inch sensor. That's a tiny sensor. In comparison, the main camera has a nearly four times larger area.
But let's see what that actually means for your pictures:

So, what do you think? Is the iPhone Duo the better foldable phone camera, or do you prefer the look you get with the Samsung Galaxy Fold 8?
