Vivo Y67 is a metallic, octa-core handset with 4GB RAM and a 16MP selfie shooter

The new Vivo Y67

Chinese smartphone manufacturer Vivo has just rolled out the Y67, which appears to be another selfie-focused effort from the company. Its main attraction is perhaps the 16-megapixel front camera, while the rear is adorned with a 13-megapixel snapper flanked by LED flash.

Under the hood there's an octa-core, 64-bit MediaTek MT6750 chipset along with a rather generous 4 gigs of RAM. The 5.5-inch display means the Y67 is borderline phablet territory, though the 720p resolution of the IPS LCD panel is not much to write home about. The device's 32 GB of on-board storage is also on the modest side, though the hybrid slot of the dual-SIM device means you can add up to 128 GB via microSD.

Elsewhere, the handset packs Cat. 6 LTE and a reasonable 3000 mAh battery that should keep the middling hardware running for a decent stretch. There's a fingerprint sensor baked into the physical home button, and the Vivo Y67 is offered in the depicted colors of beige/gold and pink.

As for the price? The Vivo Y67 will set consumers back 1798 Yuan in China, which equates to $265 U.S. Not an extortionate amount of money, but quite steep considering rivals like Xiaomi offer Snapdragon 821-powered handsets from $300.
