Best LTE smartphones under $300 (off-contract)

Best LTE smartphones under $300 (off-contract)
Having an LTE-capable smartphone isn’t a luxury anymore, as it used to be a few years back. In fact, you can now buy quite many handsets that offer LTE speeds for less than $300 (unlocked), and some of them are really good devices - although not all are from the latest generation.

Of course, LTE is now a standard feature on all high-end smartphones, and, in the near future, it will likely become a standard for mid-end handsets as well. Until then, though, if you're in search of the best LTE smartphone that doesn't cost more than $300 off-contract, you still have to consider some devices that have been around for a while.

We made a list of the best sub-$300 LTE smartphones that are available now, and you can see it below. If you feel like we should've added other handsets, let us know in the comments.

I really love this kind of articles from PA Nokia Lumia 630 is the most modern and best here. OnePlus One seems to be a spam, and it is not available at that imaginary price at all.

If you don't want to invite fighting, please don't proclaim that WP phone is the best. A lot of us are not happy with such claim. Notice no other iOS or Android owner do such proclamation.

Someone can say that Android is the best, another user can say that IOS is the best etc. But every user is different and wants different things......i believe you understand me

Joey: Opinions are NOT facts. Learn to accept other people's opinions. In contrast, I correct people when they confuse opinions with facts.

We need to keep in mind that the Nokia fans are going through some tough emotional times as Nokia is assimilated into the Microsoft mothership and monoculture. Some Nokia fans will switch their allegience to the evil Microsoft, but most others will make a different choice, likely to Android, as it is the most open mobile OS.

He is right. Lumia 630 is the most modern here and according to a lot of people perspectives, it is the best among those phones. So respect others' opinions.

Not really. Personally I will still choose galaxy s3 among the rest. I need the removal battery and the microSD card. I also need some of the Android apps for my job. May the fight begins!

well, I think both the moto G 4G and lumia 635 are both good for their respective prices. but still, we can't forget the elephant in the room, availability, so the 635 has definitely the upper hand here across the whole list mentioned above, it's the only phone that's relevant here. what's the point of devices that are not available in more than half of the world??

you act like a 5 year old no offence ! seriously ever article that isn't android you go hate mode and ironically enough how you said opinion=/=fanboyism and FYI it's not since the market is shaped around opinion ! and what if i'm a nokia fanboy but think the nexus and sony z2 are cool android phones is my opinion fanboyism ?

Then Sir, you are not a fanboy, you are a fan, which is better, fanboys are ignorant, I troll on fanboys, I even dog on some android fanboys, These wp fanboys like microsoftmobileoyjWTF or livingItupunderrock are truly pathetic.

Maybe a fanboy of android not any specific OEM, and i like certain aspects of each platform, but android suits me best.

Don't you have to do a little tinkering to get the LTE to work on the Nexus 4, as it isn't officially supported?

This is correct. There's also a variety of issues running Kitkat on the Nexus 4. I wouldn't buy a Nexus 4 today, not when $50 more gets you a 16GB Nexus 5.

I rather pay the extra $50 and get the Nexus 5.
