One thing about T-Mobile CEO John Legere, once you get on his bad side, he never forgets about it. His back-and-forth verbal shots with AT&T have become legendary, and now it seems that BlackBerry is climbing rapidly up the "Legere loath list". Two weeks from today, T-Mobile's license to sell BlackBerry phones will expire, and won't be renewed. And this all stems from BlackBerry CEO John Chen's reaction to T-Mobile's promotion, trying to get T-Mobile's BlackBerry users to switch to the Apple iPhone 5s.
To get back at BlackBerry, Legere has been offering special trade-in deals for BlackBerry units owned by T-Mobile customers. Now, T-Mobile has teamed up with Samsung to bring BlackBerry owners another special deal. Upgrade a T-Mobile branded BlackBerry model to a new Samsung smartphone at T-Mobile, and receive a gift card worth as much as $200. It is a timely offer considering that the Samsung Galaxy S5 is now available from the carrier.
T-Mobile says that it will continue to offer this deal through the end of the year.
