BlackBerry App World 3.0 brings a revised look to the online applications store

BlackBerry App World remains well behind the Apple App Store and the Android Market when it comes to the number of available apps, and the different varieties of downloads available. If RIM can't attract the developers necessary to catch up with the front runners, at least they could make BlackBerry App World look better. Now up to App World 3.0, a leaked screenshot shows the new look for the smartphone application store which is similar in look to RIM's recently revised App World web site.

The revised BlackBerry App World 3.0 has an easy to find search bar at the top and buttons on the bottom of the page allow you to search by three categories, Apps, Games and Themes, amongst the 35,000 current apps available from App World. That represents a 360% growth in the number of available apps for 'Berry users over the last 12 months. According to IHS SD, developers generate the most profits from App World than any other applications store, other than the Apple App Store.
