Old school styled action game "Red Star" coming to the iPhone

Just when you thought that old school action games like Streets of Rage and Final Fight were left behind back in the 1990's, XS Games has announced its plans on releasing “Red Star” for the Apple iPhone. This classic action genre combines the elements of a top down shooter and fighting style game play that managed to provide some much needed nostalgia to PlayStation 2 owners when it was originally released. The iPhone will play host to the game by offering a fresh updated look just for the smartphone and an improved control scheme to make the game play a little bit more tolerable on those thumbs that will be required to advance in the game. So far it's looking good as XS Games has it slated for an early spring 2010 release for the game which is based upon the graphic novel by the same name that's written by Christian Gossett.
