New HTC 10 (M10) photos leak out showing white and black variants
This year, HTC is a little behind Samsung, LG, and Sony when it comes to announcing a new flagship smartphone. Nevertheless, it's said that the company is planning to unveil a flagship device sometime soon, and the latest official teasers (see here and here) make us believe that this will happen before the end of March.

Yesterday, we heard that the upcoming smartphone will not be called HTC M10, as initially assumed, but simply HTC 10. We also saw images showing the handset's black and black-on-silver versions. Now, we can take a look at even more images, including a render that reveals a white-on-silver variant of the HTC 10.

Design-wise, the HTC 10 is quite different from the One M9, One M8, and One M7 (perhaps that's why HTC is ditching the M from its name). The handset doesn't have prominent front-facing speakers, instead coming with a home button that includes a fingerprint sensor. All in all, what we have here is an all-metal smartphone that kind of resembles the HTC One A9, though its rear still reminds us of the One M series.

Like Samsung's Galaxy S7, LG's G5, or Sony's Xperia X Performance, the HTC 10 is likely powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor. Other expected features include a 5.2-inch Quad HD (1440 x 2560 pixels) display, 4 GB of RAM, and a 12 MP UltraPixel rear camera. So, are you excited about this next-gen HTC smartphone?

Me too, white Z2 looked incredible because of black front, Z3 had white front and it looked like some generic chinese brickphone. White Nexus 5 also looked sweet, I'd give my left toe for white back/black front iPhone or this HTC

Apple copied HTC first with the antenna lines and everything is a copy of a copy anyway its not like the design can be drastically different from previous models and still look good(the s6 is the exception)......just look at LG's G5 lol.

and bigger battery doesn't translate into better battery life

Exactly. People seem to forget that optimization is a thing. A perfect example would be the G3 and G4 which had abysmal battery life even compared to devices with smaller batteries. Or really, there are a lot of phones you could name.

Thick, yeah looks on the picture with its back facing the sky, but the other 2 pictures actually show it's not that fat, I think it's gonna be around 8.3mm thick.

Looks like HTC took everything M9 had wrong away, and put some true effort to make this beauty runs smooth and fast while still maintaining very attractive design inspired by A9.

The answer is , no.
You obviously know nothing of enjoying Sense, I wish them best of luck to succeed with new HTC 10.

Im just positive, not like bunch of people giving critics whatever HTC has made, and trust me they can make a superb smartphone you just don't know that, yet.

The design is ugly. The front is obviously iphone inspired + a samsung home button. The chamfered edges at the back just yell "scratches!!!!" In addition, it looks like it's about 1cm thick, which is unacceptable today. The m9 is almost 1cm thick and yet the battery life sucks. They need more unique features to make up for this ugly design phone. Or else, there will be no htc in 2017

Opinions are acceptable at any time. Aesthetic taste is 100% subjective. Though I disagree that HTC will go bust, this person certainly is entitled to their perspective.

Design is subjective, indeed. This is why I've never understand everyone commenting on design. "The design is superb", "it's ugly", "it's okayish", it's acceptable". In a poll article asking "do you like the phone's design" I can understand this. Other than that, we can all see the phone for ourselves, there's no need to go on and on about what people with sight can on their own. Plus, they are all rectangles with with a flat screen. How bad or great could it possibly be?

To be frank, I really doubt the average consumer cares in the slightest about bezels. It's a techy thing that isn't really borne out in the real world.

But I do think losing their one real differentiator is going to hurt them.

Oh look you are one of those bezel loser who complain and complain about bezels. And to say the bezels look bad show how stupid you truly are. And to say a mid range A series looks better than this truly shows you are a moron.

I miss the hairline aluminum design they had on the M8 and M9. I don't understand why that had to go. That was a large part of what made their devices so striking. And I don't see how they have any real differentiator without boom sound, otherwise is just another metal android phone with presumably smooth performance and a (potentially) good camera. In this day and age, there are quite a few devices that fit that description. I don't see how that's going to do them any good against the Galaxy S7 or G5. What exactly do they have to set them apart now?

I'm aware the earpiece supposedly doubles as a speaker and there is one on the bottom. They still eliminated the front facing dual speaker design, and thus directed stereo sound is no longer possible. Without that, it simply isn't boom sound.

Do you have anything constructive to add, or are you going to keep rampaging through the comment section like an impetuous child? At least put some effort into your insults.

Definitely iPhone 5 with a Samsung home button from the front too.
