Live HTC Vigor spotted in the wild

Live HTC Vigor spotted in the wild
Well what do we have here? Just earlier today we had some confirmation on the specs of the unannounced HTC Vigor, but now the Verizon bound smartphone has posed for an all-out photo shoot.

There is no better way to confirm the specifications of an unofficial device than to see them on the device itself. That is exactly what this latest leak does for us. In one of the screenshots you can see that it definitely will sport a 4.3-inch, 720p HD display as well as a dual-core 1.5GHz processor.
An 8 megapixel camera will call the back of the device its home while a 2 megapixel shooter will be perched on the front.

On the back of the device is Verizon’s LTE stamp confirming the Vigor’s place amongst the 4G elite, just like an earlier spotting in the wild had done. The device on display in the photos features Android 2.3.4 and is running HTC Sense version 3.5.

By now we have all seen what the Vigor looks like, but now we have seen it powered on which delivered us some nice confirmation on its very high-end specifications. HTC’s media event is only a little more than a week away, and if one of the rumored release dates of the Vigor is true than it could find its way to shelves in just a matter of weeks.

Looks like under the 'incredible' line of phones..

There are now four names floating around: Vigor, Thunderbolt 2, Droid Incredible HD, and now supposedly Rezound. I agree it looks like an Incredible, but Verizon may not be ready to retire the TBolt or the Incredible 2, so I can see them picking something new. Personally I don't care what they call it, I just want one in my pocket.

Heard the Incredible 2 has not been much of a hit. I know one person with it, it is an okay device. But nothing that makes it stand out. The kind HTC could put out with their eyes closed and with spare parts.

But, if they go with Incredible HD, they do not have to retire the Incred 2.

I work for vzw and the incredible 2 is hands down the best android unit out for vzw right now. It is also the best seller in all 3g markets according to sales. And my personal reason for selling it is maybe 1 out of ever hundred that go out come back with a problem. compared to avg android which is about 1 out of 50 or iphone which is 1 out of 25. Ive also noticed everyone loves the battery life compared to other droids. So if this new one is a incredible hd it will raise its sales by name alone.

dude the Droid 3 kills the Incredible 2 in the 3G space and i own both of them. after using my Droid 3 for so long the Incredible 2 just feels so sluggish.

*TYPING IN ALL CAPS BUT NOT FOR EFFECT.*

THE INCREDIBLE 2 HAS BEEN OUT A LOT LONGER. I'D CHOOSE INCREDIBLE 2 OVER THE DROID 3 ANYDAY. THE ONLY REASON THE 3 WOULD HAVE AN ADVANTAGE IS THAT DUAL CORE AND KEYBOARD. I DISLIKE THE KEYBOARD AND LOVE THE SIZE OF THE SCREEN.OF THE INCRED2.

i'm up for either some Droid branding or the Rezound.

Rezound could grow on me. Interesting portmanteau of Resound, Rez (as in high-rez) and Sound. Makes sense for a high-resolution Beats phone.

Hey, "Verizon" sounded weird too once.

As much as I'd like to believe it. I don't buy the 720p display, just seems too good to be true at this point. I have no doubt it'll be qhd tho.

I had my doubts too, especially since the similarly-spec'd Sensation XE is qHD, but this phone has never leaked with anything but 720p.

It says 720p son the screen, all htc devices tell you what res it is (WVGA, qHD, or this, i dont think HTC would lie... it is a 720p screen

nope. sounds like a naturally regular advancement to me. it could work if they use an MSM8960 in it. maybe you just don't want it to be true so you won't feel bad about that Epic 4G Touch you JUST got. xD

I'd like to believe this is the first MSM8960 phone, but I still doubt it's ready despite reports it sampled ahead of schedule. Early Vigor leaks listed an Adreno 220 (part of the MSM8660 SoC) whereas the 8960 uses an Adreno 225. Knowing HTC's history, I'm more likely to believe they'll stick with the proven (if underpowered) 8660, clocked at 1.5 Ghz.

Want a cookie dbag? Comments like yours are truely a waste. And its a shame because i have seen comments from yourself before and its not striking an idiot chord right away. So im wondering why the trivial post.

If you have it, sweet. Give some details.

If your just looking for attention.... well thats just pathetic and i hope this attention is enough for ya.

It would be nice to see it confirmed that it's a Crapdragon proc. I'm sure it is given HTC's consistent use of Qualcomm chips.

I thought Sense 3.5 was supposed to look a lot different than the current versions? The screenshot looks like what's out there now.

Why all the Snapdragon 3 hate? Are the Sensation and EVO 3D really that slow, or is the Exynos just so much better that anything else is pathetic in comparison?

Its that they dont feel like true dual core phones an not pathetic just pale in comparison an now with HD res it will be slower hopefully sense 3.5 wont slow it down like 3.0 did

They are not slow and there is little to no lag what so ever. His is just a fanboy who only care about the greatest and latest phone out. Normal people will not be able to tell the different. I have a terga 2 tablet and my Eve 3D feel faster. It has a lot to do with the coding.

People like to look at benchmarks and compare without really comparing real-world performance (only until now can people really play around with a phone that has the Exynos SoC unless you were rocking a Euro SGSII)

The only thing I can see why someone would not want a phone with a Snapdragon is if they are doing something that really needs the extra horsepower afforded by the Cortex A9 in the Exynos (or OMAP4) and a more powerful GPU.

i've seen lag in real world performance.
you always go for the best so you can get that bang for your time and bucks. there's apps and games out now that the more powerful single core phones can handle whereas on weaker ones they don't perform so well. in around the same time dual-core phones will be the same way. mobile game creators want to make the best games right? well to do that they might push the current gens hardware limitations and that's drawn by the most powerful SoC so better phones will be able to play it to it's full potential but weaker phones will just barely make it by.

go look at the Jetstream review. Phone Arena finally saw the lag that a few of us know an S3 is capable of.

the S3 is really that bad and is in dead last in the dual-core space.

Sense 3.5 has two version. One is the one presented on the HTC Bliss/Rhyme which is been rearranged to be more elegant/feminine and work better for smaller displays.
Where as this HTC and the HTC Runnymede Sense 3.5 is more traditional in its look for full size displays.

that's a fragmentation nightmare. the new Sense was a waste of time with ICS being so close.

It's Pentile technology probably. So that means it's not REALLY HD.

I thought HTC learned from the Incredible not to play with Samsung displays. And while Moto cheated and used PenTile for their qHD, HTC went with true RGB.

It is not pentile. It is super LCD which don't use Pentile, it use RGB.

The Incredible S is the name for the Droid Incredible 2 in the rest of the world. So no, it's won't be an S. If anything, it will be the Incredible HD.

The new HTC phones (Sensation, EVO 3D, etc) are narrower than older ones like the EVO, Thunderbolt, HD2, etc. They changed from WVGA 15:9 screens to true HD (either qHD or in this case 720p) 16:9 ratio. So even though the diagonal size is the same (4.3"), the screen is in fact longer and skinnier.

The EVO and TBolt feel too wide to me. 16:9 is natural HD, so videos will run at native aspect. Seems a natural progression for the HD age.
