We know that the folks at Huawei are capable of making some pretty decent high-end phones, but the low-end segment of the smartphone market is still heavily focused on by the company. Here is an example: the smartphone that you see pictured here is known as the Huawei Ascend Y200, and it was on display at CTIA 2012.

Of course, demanding users won't be interested, but the Ascend Y200 would be suitable for first-time smartphone owners or the teenage crowd. In terms of specs, the single-core processor inside it ticks at 1GHz and the 3.5-inch display has a resolution of 320 by 480 pixels. You also get a pretty basic 3.2-megapixel camera and a 1,400mAh battery. Software-wise, Android 2.3 Gingerbread is installed, and we doubt that the smartphone will ever taste a different flavor.

But then again, the Huawei Ascend Y200 is meant to be a cheap device, so we can't really complain. U.S. phone users who are interested in getting one can expect finding it on shelves nationwide within the following couple of months.
