HTC Ozone gets unofficial Windows Mobile 6.5 update
Share:
Sometimes you really can’t wait for that Windows Mobile 6.5 update to finally be made available for your specific smartphone. It must be nice that Samsung Epix owners recently received the good news that an official update to WM 6.5 for the one year handset is ready for the pickings. HTC Ozone owners may feel a little bit envious right now – especially when the Ozone is a much newer device than the Samsung Epix. Thanks to one particular XDA member, udK, people sporting the portrait QWERTY smartphone will have the ability to install a custom ROM for Windows Mobile 6.5. If you can overlook the feelings of being considered an unofficial update, you’ll be greeted to some minor graphical enhancements, MyPhone, Marketplace, and a new home screen customizer. You can sit tight until Microsoft places the Ozone on their list to receive a WM 6.5 update, but you can always check this custom ROM if the wait is too unbearable.

Where does this article say anything about Verizon? They are definitely not the first with any updates. Especially winmo 6.5 for Touch Pro 2. This article is talking about another cooked ROM. However some people actually want some support from their carrier and don't like hacking their phones to get what they want.

The Ozone is vzw's version of the Snap, don't think the latter has an update yet
