Both iPhone 18 Pro Max and Galaxy S26 Ultra look shockingly underpowered next to this phone

10,000 nits and an 11,000 mAh battery: this phone is absolutely bonkers.

Be it the latest iPhone 18 Pro Max, the Google Pixel 11, or the Galaxy S26 Ultra, battery capacity is one of the first few things I check on a smartphone before recommending it to anyone. While Chinese manufacturers have been consistently producing smartphones with massive batteries, the top three phone makers, Google, Apple, and Samsung, are yet to make 5000 mAh the standard battery capacity in their devices. Yet another Chinese smartphone is about to launch, and its battery size is so huge that it is even bigger than the combined capacities of both the iPhone 18 Pro Max and the Galaxy S26 Ultra.

Honor X9e Pro to come with a humongous battery

We have already known the exact battery figure of the Galaxy S26 Ultra since its launch. It's 5000 mAh. Apple usually doesn't reveal the battery capacity of its smartphones, and it continued the tradition this year as well with the iPhone 18 Pro lineup.

But the EU energy database made it clear that the iPhone 18 Pro and the iPhone 18 Pro Max come with 4,056 mAh and 5,391 mAh cells, respectively. If you combine the cell capacities of both the iPhone 18 Pro Max and the Galaxy S26 Ultra, the sum will be 10,391. This number is still smaller than the battery size the Honor X9e Pro is going to offer.

The smartphone is reportedly going to feature an 11,000 mAh battery. I highly agree that software efficiency plays an important role in determining the runtime a smartphone will offer, and One UI and iOS would likely be more optimized and efficient than what you would get in the Honor phone. But that doesn't eliminate the fact that the battery sizes of both smartphones look laughably inferior in front of the Honor X9e Pro.

Don't forget it's 10,000 nits brightness

The absolutely massive 11,000 mAh battery is not the only crazy thing about the Honor X9e Pro. The device is reported to come with a display that supports a peak brightness of up to 10,000 nits. For comparison, the iPhone 18 Pro Max features a peak brightness of 3,000 nits.

Honor has released a teaser video, and it has confirmed that the smartphone will have a dual-camera setup at the back. Rumors suggest that the primary sensor is going to be 108 MP. It will support 80 W fast charging and 27 W wired reverse charging, according to a Malaysian news outlet.

Furthermore, it has water-resistance ratings of IP68, IP69, and IP69K. The phone will be available in four different colors: Royal Purple, Dawn Gold, Reddish Brown, and Midnight Black. It is scheduled to release on September 24, 2026, in Malaysia, with no details yet on global availability.

Everyone wants bigger batteries

I'm pretty sure that a smartphone with a big battery is something no one will refuse. While Chinese smartphone makers are constantly pushing boundaries, Apple, Google, and Samsung are still offering 4000–5000 mAh cells in their devices. It's high time that these companies also started including massive batteries in their phones.

Users on public forums like Reddit also believe the same. A user commented that they switched from the Pixel 8 Pro to the Oppo Find X9 Pro because they were troubled by the poor battery performance of the Google phone. For reference, the former comes with a 5050 mAh battery, whereas the latter features a 7500 mAh cell.

Switch to silicon carbon batteries

The only thing that's allowing Chinese brands to offer massive battery cells in their devices is the use of silicon‑carbon technology. In comparison, Samsung, Google, and Apple are still offering lithium‑ion batteries in their devices. The good news, though, is that both Google and Samsung are reportedly considering using the latest battery technology in their upcoming devices.

So the days might not be far off when one of the main reasons to get a Chinese smartphone would be eliminated. That said, there is unfortunately no information as yet on whether Apple will make the switch or not. But I really think it should if it truly wants to impress its users with battery numbers as well.
